Guest Lady Luck Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Dragon Dogma " Capcom's Own Skyrim,MonsterHunter, Devil may cry and Oblivion " Review Sigh... this game [stared at the box] seriously? , you want to label the game like this SERIOUSLY, ok let me review this alright i just bought dragon dogma on console version do i feel proud playing it ? yes and no. You see dragon dogma takes a leap into whole new level of 3rd person RPG take this Real time Animated Slaying Dragons don't see that on skyrim [ill get this later on why we don't see this vs skyrim ] how about this Similar game play to dark souls in here its even better , how about this Way better then devil may cry not your avarage button mashing game it require strategy alot. Mapping system/Fast Travel You have no idea how epic sized the game here, do the game have mounts guess what NO?! , seriously empty Mounts Capcom " Bwahahahhaahaa " ... what that time period make horses die all sudden what happend to it does the pandemic kill all these bastards, Troll "But neeeeuuuuooo , Horses are overated " Seriously overated You have no idea how big is the map is , oh man if you want to talk about size how about x10 sized big as hell bigger then skyrim bigger then oblivion hows that, Troll " you have a point... uhmmm sorry", yeah whose the bitch now , this game needing Travel fast seriously its unforgivably torturing your eyes , your energy while sitting your ass complaint how your life sucks for 1 hour to go to quest marker, oh Don't get me started on quest marker. Glitches Lol the game has most funniest glitches ever, like there's random occasion where i got stick on the dragons ass when the background is buzy with fights , did i forgot to mentioned spinning ragdoll having anal evacuation yeah " hmmm pooorn " lol XD , anyway these glitches is normal on open world they shape your game to be funny when the game is fucking frusturating. Loading times thank god its short Save System This will make you angry , let me ask you what is the most important thing to have on a open world RPG A comprehensive Saving system this game will only allow 1 slot which a bummer , what if the game has two endings uh did capcom care? no instead they put 1 slot 1 fucking slot like the game so greedy to put 5. The voices Let me tell you one of the most annoying features that dragon dogma have your companion voices and boy its annoying the shit out of my ear how should i defined this hmm , its like having sound orgy going through your ear at same time i'm like SHUT UP!! SHUT UP SHUT UP!!! through the entire game you will get raped in the ear literally, if that's not enough whenever enemy spawn literally entire map he/she will shout like Enemy ENEMY ENEMY!!! its like the game trolling you hard except it succeed... Classes These are best classes on rpg i ever seen like seriously i hate to go on detail on this one You have to learn by your self cus if i list all these classes it took me the enitre thread just for this section its awesome worth to check out and also fun too .. PAWN - AI system now this is another cool edition to companions what capcom did and what other game should take notes on , whenever you have new companion on your team the moment you logged out the ai somehow have uncanny experience points its like they leveling on their own kinda creepy but thats how the game works! Monster AI change after logg off the game will make the monster hard even its easy difficulties , ever felt the creature on games likes evolve themselves?, seriously its annoying as hell. Level system/special traits etc now this game has fun leveling system it meant to built like that because the entire game you will spent for the last 10 hrs on grinding like a mad man seriously " definition of crazy " this game will push you on leveling your character if you don't , when you meet high ranked mobs you get your ass handed to ya even when your companion pawn is high ranked no point on fighting bosses even when your pawn ai is high leveled seriously this one its pissing me off! character design its an ok character design kind of dated , some of them look like uh porn star model like seriously idk who but i kinda feel some of these girl are lol. Quest side/main Dull , boring and lame pick one... i hate going into detail on this one that doesn't mean i don't play the game its because its pointless to talk about it. Does this mean this game is bad HELLL NOO , am i smoking crack because saying shit like this helll noo , did you see the class , the game have robust wikia knowledge to help you play the game to understand its character class, and the best shit this game has its the boss battle holy shit its awosome , the battle system fuck yeah its epic win " earning fus ro dah moment!" this game is fun as hell but at the same time its annoying. did i forget ghosts , ghouls , zombies and goblins yeah this game has it which epic win for them.. that brings us to the verdict A 7.9/10 earn my respect!.
windpl Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Biggest issue with this game is - it is not released on pc Well about horses. I remember that when I was on side quest in witcher 2. One of NPC asked me where is my horse? And PC respond that there is no horses in this game lol.
Guest Lady Luck Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 ahahahahahaa lol now you know how i feel lmaoooo
gregathit Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 I will probably never play this game due to it not coming out on PC, however one issue I heard about while watching a review (from angry joe) was the long treks and how tedious they become. Despite the few flaws angry joe liked the game and I think I would too.......if it comes to the PC.
Guest Lady Luck Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 at this rate i agree with you i can not sit with my hard rock couch not in dirty way but u got the meaning , playing this imagine hearing sound orgy all day and complain how my life sucks for 1 hour continuing that with barely unacceptable entertainment following you die over and over assuming we got DE ja vued by Dark souls not a pc materiel you got my epic meaning lol.
polluxval Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 nah. the soul of dragon dogma are the long trips. they did that on porpuse because most (if not all) open world games already have a fast travel or something similar (or mounts). ps. i cant find an announcement about never going to be for pc, or atleast not before dd 2 wich is sad, i hated the popup syndrome this game suffer. the ending its one of the best i have seen in my gaming life (wich is long, since atari) so if anyone is planning on buying it... JUST DO IT. (uh oh, nike will sue me for sure )
threeddd33 Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Man, I just watched the Dev video and that game looks righteous. I'm looking forward to "The Last of Us" too.

[/quote'] well again do not expect too highley on capcom expansion they tend to be sucked , i hate to be truthful but that's what you get from them , if anything wroth on Dragon dogma is the boss battle. yea the fighting system its well implemented and much better than skyrim. i loved the ability to climb enemies like golems and dragons, also the weak points of some bosses/enemies wich make you plan before rushing to battle, not like skyrim where you can win by simple pressing the attack button repeatedly. :/ i didnt mentioned the character creation system wich its amazing, the items/armors/weapons wich are very well done and the real time videos with your "current character and equipment". but i do not agree about being the only feature worth. the story its very well planned, the a.i. its pretty much better than skyrim and your comapanions really do a great job. there are only a couple of weak points in DD: - traveling too much. (its only an issue for the impatient) - graphics. (if you are very picky about graphics that is) other than that i cant think on anything else. having DD with a fast travel system and better graphics (wich can be accomplished IF DD could come to pc some day) would be pretty much a game of the year.
Veta Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 This was a truly wonderful game which didn't get half of the attention it deserved I personaly I got my xbox four years ago this is one of the very few games that make me feel happy for buying it although I don't believe us Pc gamers should be blackmailed by microsoft and its exclusive games, that is one of the reasons I choose not to buy games on my Xbox and use other means of attaining them excluding games I truly believe deserve it or aren't exclusive like Assassins Creed 2 and Dragons Dogma.

polluxval Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 well followers can climb and jump in DD for instance, and skyrim "have" the mod community to fix bethesdas work, also, im talking about the console version of skyrim, otherwise it wouldnt be fair. i love skyrim, i really do (im currently reinstalling it and dowloading the 200+ mods i had) but DD without any mod its still a good game and much enjoyable than skyrim, maybe that simplicity make it worth. and yes, my argument its indeed valid. well, whatever, i dont have anything more to say about.
Remy Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Sigh i been drooling over this game i first saw it, i been imagining skyrim to be a bit like this, but for that, some capable game studio would need to be present. The boss fights are seriously epic...damn, wish i had a console :/
leddis3 Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I applaud Dragon's Dogma not only for being awesome, but for actually using online features to enhance the single player game, rather than force multiplayer on us. This has become a real problem especially with some RPGs, that split content off into multiplayer modes that are dead on arrival because there are all of 6 people playing it *glares at White Knight Chronicles*

GrimReaper Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Dragon's Dogma was my personal Game of the year 2012. Heck, for me it was the best game I've played in years, though it had some serious problems. But I loved it, seriously. I bought it for the 360 and will gladly buy it again for PC if they ever decide to port it. That would be a first time for me, even Dark Souls wasn't that good imo that I would've bought it for the PC again. But Dragon's Dogma had some serious balancing issues. You became simply too strong too early on. At the beginning you were afraid of simple enemies like bandits because they hit like a truck and take a beating. But once you got to the middle of the game most of the time the game becomes a cake walk. Once you have enough gold to purchase healing stuff on a regular basis you simply won't die anymore. Why? Because you can use every healing item with an instant effect directly out of your inventory. You could just eat 20 healing herbs if needed, np. That was one of the thing Dark Souls did waaaay better. Having to actually drink the healing potion in-game meant that you couldn't just drink it whenever you felt like it. Enemies could attack you during the animation, making you lose even more health and not gaining any because you were interrupted and stuff. I know this sounds like just a small detail but Dragon's Dogma would've been so much better with that feature that it really hurts. It also hurts the game that the NG+ is a joke because enemies don't scale up when you start one. Which means that the enemies you fought at lvl 1 in your first playthrough are exactly the same when you start a NG+ with lvl 50 and high end gear. Oh, and the everfall. I don't really want to even talk about it. In theory the 'after game' is an awesome idea, but the execution was very, very poorly implemented. I mean, the whole world changes and stuff but the only thing that makes sense in the after game is to farm the boring everfall dungeon. I mean, seriously. That part just felt so damn unfinished. But even then I kept playing this game. Started a NG+, went to the everfall again, killing the ur-dragon several times until I realized there just wasn't anything more to do. Sure, I could've farmed for even better gear, but why? There wasn't any enemy in the game that stood a chance against anymore. And then I was sad. Because it meant that I wouldn't be playing this gem anymore.
Guest Lady Luck Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 amen i couldn't agree more on this one

"dissapoiting". but oh well, like the spanish quote says: "en gustos se rompen generos" - (that could be translated as: "different tastes make different genres". if we all like the same, the world would be boring. i have to agree regarding the newgame+, i just played it to get some stuff i missed in my first game.

[/quote'] I agree with you there, the after game world was a pleasant surprise for me. I did have my fun fighting against tougher enemies buuuuut... there was no real motivation to do so. That was my point. The best gear only dropped in the everfall, that's why you go there and don't really wander around the overworld anymore. Because of the reward. The harder enemies didn't drop any good stuff except new crafting materials which were needed to upgrade high end weapons and armor. But you could find those enemies in the everfall a lot easier and in a higher concentration than in the regular world. Other than collecting the dragon tears from the 3 drakes that spawn in the after game there was just nothing to do in the overworld anymore. Yes, you have hard enemies spawning everywhere, but to get better gear, you have to visit the everfall or killing the ur-dragon. It would'be been way better if the chests in the overworld would have changed in the after game so thad they contained new shiny loot instead of placing all the good stuff inside this boring everfall dungeon. Now again, the everfall in itself was a nice idea, but the execution was very poor. But I think that's because the devs were forced to release the game. I simply can't really believe that the everfall is that what the devs wanted to have in the game. I mean, it is literally the same 3 or 4 room sections over and over again.
