Aki K Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 So I've gotten a lot of advice regarding mods for racemenu, lips, eyes, etc. For the most part my characters are looking good. But my big problem is the nose. I cannot get that small/cute anime style nose a lot of people seem to get with their characters. I tried making one on ECE (despite the trouble ECE causes me) but it doesn't seem to be an automatic thing. So I'm down to three desperate attempts to finally get the nose I want. 1. Praying someone can give me the slider details for racemenu noses to achieve the desired affect. I tried sculpting (for both ECE and Racemenu. Far from straightforward on both accounts. Not something I seem to be able to do). 2. I have plenty of custom followers who have these unique noses. While the racemenu mimic plugin doesn't let me duplicate the faces, I've been told it is possible to import a specific .nif into Racemenu for use. I have no idea how, but maybe someone here knows the ins and outs of it. How to do it, what the limitations are, etc. 3. Some unique solution or mod I haven't thought of that someone else can offer. For reference, my noses look slightly better than vanilla. What I am going for though, is something like in this mod here https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/91201?tab=files. I cannot seem to copy it, I cannot seem to create anything close to it. With or without ECE.
ayuksolomon Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 it is easier to obtain such a nose with enhanced character edit, but you could get a race like the monli race with the little nose, save the sculpt and preset then just load the preset on the character you play then customize or you could get that follower, save the preset and use it on your character
Pauduan Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 I personally don't like those sort of noses. However, they're actually quite easy to get to. The nose tip is as wide as the top of the sellion, some use even narrower tips. The bridge is between 40 and 60% smaller (per your taste) From side view, nose length is just slightly protruding from the forehead. You also want the nose tip angle to be slightly negative (upward slope). These are all RM settings, as I've never used ECE (don't even know what it looks like. Some playable child races have a headmesh that makes it slightly easier, though from what I've seen the only ones really left are RSC and Skykids, both of which use a headmesh close to the adults'. Obviously one way to do what you seek is by copying the follower headmesh into the RM folder and load it in the sculpt menu for your own chaarcter. You still have to do some tweaks, but you'll get close this way - not sure if this is legal (it's definitely not ethical, not without permission).

I've never been quite good with sculpting, but at least now I have something to work with. I get not being a fan of this type of nose. It is a bit anime, but it looks much closer to the character design I'm going for than what I have. I don't think the last part is unethical unless I try to distribute what I've made. If I keep it to myself I'm pretty sure it doesn't break any rules, legal or ethical. The only mods I make/distribute are tattoo mods. I'm hoping to learn how to make armor mods, but the tutorials and rules confuse me greatly. So it has been a long process for me. I did think about making a follower mod along with a friend, but neither of us can get creation kit working. We don't really understand the setup or implementation. We already have custom textures ready to go. But stuff isn't quite working out. But anyway, thank you again. Gonna do my best to make a pretty character. EDIT: Where in the racemenu folders do I drop the headmesh? There are several folders that seem like possible candidates.
Potato_Skill Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 You can follow this video if you've decided to import followers' faces to your own character using racemenu. It's pretty much the same as the posts above. However, since you've never done it before, maybe a video will help. Hope you can get your character right, just be patient and be creative with the sliders.

And the video seems short so it must not be as complex as I've been making it out to be. Now if I could only get creation kit working I could make the custom hair mod I want. But that's a project for another day.
