Angahran Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 This is a shot in the dark but maybe someone has a suggestion or idea for a fix. I'm using Dovahkiins Armory SSE, Dovahkiins Warehouse and Bedroom SSE and Sexy Mannequins SSE and trying to showcase bunch of different armour and clothing mods. The problem is that the game now lags to heck and back and fps drops through the floor when I try to move around with all the dressed mannequins. It seems a bit of a waste to have these mods and all the mannequins standing around if they cannot be used. I don't know enough about modding to know if there is anything that can be done to reduce the lag caused by a couple of hundred mannequins wearing assorted armour and cloting from various mods like Sun Jeongs and the TERA armor collection, etc. Any help, suggestions, totally off the wall ideas appreciated. Thanks.
Guest Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 The solution is: Spend 1000 dollar on two RTX in SLI mode, and make sure they come equipped with max VRAM. But even then, bethesda's shitty engined might not even be able to send that many drawcalls, regardless of GPU. I mean, come on: What did you expect? Think about this logically: What exactly is this doing to the poor VRAM and GPU? What is happening under the hood? You want to render hundreds of UNIQUE hi-poly hi-res armors at the same time? Not possible on a toaster and stoneage-tech like bethesda's engine. UNLESS: You don't actually wanna do that. If you DON'T want to see everything simultaneusly - just have it "somewhere" in your house, then it becomes a level-design and engine-issue. The level-design part should be obvious: If there's just one or two rooms for the stuff, you can only put everything in the same place. Less-obvious is the engine-aspect: Way back in the 90ies or earlier, an idea called "occlusion-culling" was invented. What is that? Simple: Not rendering stuff you can't see (like things behind walls). Yet fucking bethesda has yet to invent this technology in 2019. What does that matter? Well, even if you had a bunch of seperate rooms for armor-display, if the engine just ignores walls and renders stuff you can't see, FPS will still be shit. AFAIK it's possible to MANUALLY tell bethesda's shitty engine "This is a wall, OKAY? Don't render past that, you stupid!". This is done by the level-designer manually placing markers in the editor. But given that most playerhome-mods don't give a shit about FPS, why would they care about those markers? And i do mean that question quite literarily, not rethorically: Playerhome designers do not fucking care about performance. I've seen things that cannot be unseen, and this "tradition" goes way back to Oblivion: Already back then the word performance was completely alien to home-designers. TL/DR: Sorry, you're fucked. Nothing you can do.
donttouchmethere Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Delete half of your dummies with Jaxonz's positioner and save it with cellbuilder to prevent them from respawning. Also many lewd mods recognize those dummies as possible NPCs and go crazy (SLAR for example) Everything else: Like Iynak said already oops, accidentally ended in SSE support. Just ignore me

I tried so many mods from nexus that all promised that mannequins would never move again (unless...), non worked for me. On the other hand, that was 2 years ago for LE. Maybe there is something new on the nexus market for SE. I find a gem every week on Nexus atm, hard to try them all.
Corsayr Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 2 words... naked mannequins Eh? Pretty good huh... ? Not helpful? ? Okay I'll go back to my corner... ?

Guest Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 I see a lot of complaints about the game engine. skyrim without mods is playfull. the other story is that we push 300+ modes, textures, graphical enhancements and expect it to work smoothly.
