AAF vs Fourplay

If this has been addressed before, I apologize, but I couldn't find it. I have been modding for many years, not an expert by any means, but at least not a noob. I've added sex mods to Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, Skyrim and now Fallout 4. In most cases they worked, with some exceptions. AAF Prostitution broke my game dialogue and I had to remove it, but otherwise, in an earlier game, AAF SEU was working fine. In my latest game, with new mods, it's completely broken. I can't initiate sex with the hotkey. Preston almost worked, he moved into the normal position to initiate sex, then walked away. Since I have Advanced Needs installed, I'm wondering if I will encounter sexual frustration. So, the question. Which works better, AAF or Fourplay, and do they play together or not? And where do I find instructions to uninstall either one if it comes to that. My load order is below. It looks like a lot of mods, but many of the ESPs have been flagged as ESLs in FO4Edit. The game runs fine, no crashes, and everything from every other mod seems to come into play.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thinking of just removing all AAF modules and replacing with Fourplay if that is an option.  I used Loot to order my mods with some exceptions I knew about, like Scrap Everything. Not sure why my file was inserted on top of the text here either. Thanks in advance for any help offered.

right now I don't suggest using FourPlay in any capacity. generally its all older and outdated. mods built around AAF are going to have better functionality and generally less bugs/weirdness, and the AAF animation framework itself is miles better than the animation system FourPlay used. don't mix AAF or FP mods. if I were you , I would wipe every sex mod off your drive and start fresh. if you follow this guide to a tee everything should work just fine. also, always make sure your game and F4SE are up to date. I'd suggest a mod manager to keep it a little cleaner, if you don't already use one. sometimes mods interact with each other weirdly, sometimes one mod in the wrong position of your load order can mess everything up, sometimes you miss a dependency in the fine print. but like I said, that guide should cover everything and as long as you go by that you should not have any problems.

Thanks. I had a lot of trouble with AAF Prostitution in that the NPC wouldn't respond with any dialogue not in that mod, kind of broke quests. And I use MO2. Don't miss the bad old days when I had to install everything, then start over with a new install when a mod didn't work. Game is up to date, as is FSE. The big question is can I remove those mods without messing up my game. I had been playing one for 1,600 hours (lots of big mods in it) and had been pulling mods that I didn't like or that didn't work, and by the time I was doing FAr Harbor, after Nuka World but before finishing the main quest, the game was crashing all the time. I tried Frost and found it too dark and boring, so decided to start a new run with a clean install and only the mods I really wanted. So, will pulling AAF and Fourplay leave any residual scripts in my save games that will bite me in the ass down the road? Also, how does RSE fit into all of this. I'm using advanced needs, which had one RSE plugin, to play a realistic game without the wonkiness of survival mode. But it does have sexual frustration and menses components. Do those interact with AAF. I also noticed that Sexemup for AAF was not in the list. Does that not work?

I can only speak for AAF. But, you should be able to remove it without issue.

However, you also ask if it will leave residual scripts in your saves. That is more a question for Bethesda since the game engine handles mod removal the same for every mod. If it worked perfectly, there wouldn't be a need for things like Fallrim Tools. So, the bottom line answer is that removing these mods probably does leave something residual in your save. That is the same for all script mods in Fallout 4.

Whether or not that becomes harmful probably depends on other factors like the number of mods you are running, how healthy they are and what your mod install process is like (going back to old saves from before mods were solved or save-remove-save instead).

Okay. Tomorrow I will take out non-AAF mods and install them in order, then see what happens. At least with MO2 I can reverse the process fairly easily. Now, about overall order. AAF esps at the bottom or the top? Also, I downloaded the AAF-GFV program and ran it through MO2. It said something about capturing the output, but there was no output to see as far as I could tell.

installed fallout after a year break. at forum all  stuff about aaf so I tried))) hehe, after 3 days I pulled out my old 4play mods folder. to get 4play running you just need fresh runtime dll from https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/8485-real-handcuffs/ or https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/4317-devtestbeta-ll-fourplay-community-f4se-plugin-v38-2019-12-05/

for my taste aaf for now is too buggy, maybe after a year or so it will be good to go. for now I want play fallout and it's not same as play "make new mods work"

AFF work's Just fine. It's what you Add that causes the problem's. I admit the One Patch to bang them all needs updating, but still even if you only add the Old animations listed in thehttps://www.loverslab.com/topic/124848-aaf-a-comprehensive-installation-guide-and-resource-collection-wip/ . you would still have a more up to date version then Fourplay. If I was to go old school then I would go for Flashy Player Zero with all the Fourplay Animations plus more over 100+ pose.
