Sydney77 Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 I'm pretty new to modding The Sims, but have modded a number of games before (Skyrim, Fallout 3/4, etc.), but am having a lot of difficulty with what is seemingly simple: getting custom clothing to show up in game. I downloaded several files from Non-Sequitor but cannot seem to get them to show up in game. The only files that show up are the NRaas packages. I see on the pages where I downloaded the files the only requirement is "Base". I'm taking that to mean the base game, as I have been unable to find any "Base" mod for Non-Sequitor, or anyone else for that matter. Am I missing something obvious? Any help or pointers in the right direction will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
JoshQ Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 You need two things: a configured folder and clearing your caches every single time you add or remove a .package, this is necessary for the game to properly recognize your mods. A third thing is to be sure you’re at least running version 1.67, unless you’re using Origin which automatically updates to 1.69. Yep, ‘Base’ means the vanilla game, no expansions nor content packs required for the mod to work. NRaas has a performance guide to mantain this game, I also wrote one.
gangstamick Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Above and beyond what Ignavissimus said, you also have to do a couple tweaks in NRAAS. I'd send you back to NRAAS because I'm willing to bet you are talking about Jewelry and tattoos and such.
Nonsequitur Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 I've been busy with debugging a world so haven't very attentive here. JoshQ is correct. Playing sims 3 with mods - requires a Mods folder set up correctly, clearing Caches, and have your game updated. In the future, as you add and remove Mods, other problems may appear. There is a Tool called Delphy's Custard and Tashiketh Dashboard. They can be found on MTS (Mod the Sims) website under Sims 3>Downloads>utility. One cleans up problem Sims3packs in Downloads folder and the other cleans up Package files in your Mods folder. CUSTARD: http://www.modthesims.info/d/390235/custard-sims3pack-cleaner.html DASHBOARD: http://www.modthesims.info/d/387006/testers-wanter-sims-3-dashboard-tool-updated-20th-june-2011-v1-2-4167-38743.html Thanks for checking my creations out. I'm still getting use to where things are here so may have missed any feedback from the garment help request area. Sorry for the inconvenience. I hope you got it all working - let me know.
