PSQ soulgems redone

Mod that replaces meshes and textures of soulgems your succubus give birth to.

Obviously requires PSQ mod.

Each soulgem type has different colour.

 

 

Feel free to use it as you like.

Tried converter to have them on SE, and they all look like this:

It might be SE issue in general, though - seems like vanilla sigil stone is a mess too.

Removing SigilStoneFlareFx from nif seems to remove that dark red mesh that covers colored mesh, but they look somewhat dull.

I can't even get Soulgem oven to work properly anymore, keep getting this weird displacement bug where the gems don't appear after birth, except when I go to a certain location I found out they appear there on a very specific patch of floor lol, how does that even happen? I get the most ridiculous bugs that no one can fix lol XD

I was just thinking about this for my game when I saw the mod, then you asked the question....  turns out, that is super simple.  You'd need to get and install this mod first.... and it could come in 2 flavors....

 

A plugin edit with this mod to alter the mesh paths of the 5 soul gems to point to these meshes


OR

 

A simple copy/rename of the meshes from this mod placed in to the path:  ..\Skyrim\Data\meshes\clutter\soulgem  with the names:

 

  • soulgemblack01.nif
  • soulgemcommon01.nif
  • soulgemgrand01.nif
  • soulgemgreater01.nif
  • soulgemlesser01.nif
  • soulgempetty01.nif

 

Both option 1 and 2 would allow full use of this mod AND update the soul gems in the vanilla game to appear with these meshes/textures.  I haven't tested it out yet, but I'll be doing #2.  I would only really be concerned with Soul Gems placed into the world either in stands or on tables.  As the Soul Gems have physics associated with them, they can "settle" on a table, book case, in a holder, etc.  They don't really roll as actual gems - but as round balls?  I suspect I'll find them in odd places :)

@dragondoom42  So I chose option #2 above, simple mesh rename.  Turns out they look great in game, and fit neatly inside the pre-existing holders.  Here is a common gem in the holder from inside Bleak Falls Barrow.

Oh thats a common issue with the birthing, i always make sure to do it on flat ground, but if there not dropping at all then i think its also worth trying the "kicked dropped items" in the MCM

I didn't think it was necessary, given the simplicity....  Simply copy the existing "psq" folder inside Data\meshes and paste it.  You will get "psq - copy".  Then rename as below in the image.  The pic on top is before, the pic on the bottom is after.

 

You can use both simultaneously, if you first copy and past the psq folder back into the meshes folder as "psq - copy" then rename the copied folder as below.

No, you don't need to take it down. You can put publish it elswhere if you want. I'm not really bothered if someone improves/modifies my mods :)

Just wondering, is there a version that replaces both filled and empty gems? It would be cool to have a different texture (I had to duplicate and rename the models so they look the same)

 

Even if its simple as the empty gems look dim or not animated (or even transparent?) would be interesting ^^

I tried to get this to replace SE soulgems to no avail. The soul gems just turn invisible. I might be missing something but I tried replacing mesh and texture files of another soul gem mod that was made for SE with the models and textures from this one and using the replacement zip in this thread both with no luck. Im going to miss these :"(

Tried to use these meshes and textures

it would not load. game become non responsive,

didn't have the mod added, my mistake, but now i see no textures or soul gems, and non of the ones that the pc births show up at all

Strange, does the OP's version of the mod work ok for your soulgems in PSQ?

it was working but now the PC cant birth any of them, the animation runs for 5 sec, nothing comes out, but is see all the other animation like the "water gushing" but that is it, seed is over 200, i did have it working for a short time but stopped working again

and that is without any modifications of any sort

On the debug tab of the soulgem MCM try clicking the "kick gem" or whatever option, sounds like it might be a weird bug some people have when they use both SG3 and SLIF together. If turning off the 'kick' option makes the gem pop out in front of the PC's head... it is that bug and prolly nothing to do with your soulgem meshes... Just something worth checking maybe

i am use SGO 4 bata 6 and i did upgrade it from the normal 4 could be a conflict between the two

the problem is they are not even initializing to come out before what ever the PC had available to birth it would birth them all, its not initializing almost like  it inst finding the hook in the script or passing over it

So I did this and it worked but i cant get the new texture to work I renamed the textures to the above names and put them in the textures/clutter folder and they havn't changed did I do something wrong here?

The textures of the round soulgems from this mod?  The meshes included in the base or glittering version both include textures - so, if installed correctly - i.e. you're seeing round soul gems, then the textures should also be working.  Would need more info to help you debug further - but if you are not seeing round soul gems, it could be a directory/path issue as this mod has no plugin, it's a direct asset replacement.
