An Issue with WW Autonomy

Hello! I hope I'm in the right place! I'm having a bit of an issue. 
To put it bluntly, some of my sims aren't having sex autonomously like they normally would. They will flirt on their own, but the more recent few of them I created or started playing won't have sex on their own. Both sims could have romance meters is maxed out, have been flirting with each other continuously, have the desire moodlet, and even have the whim to have sex with the other sim, but they just won't do it on their own for some reason. The closest I get is if I make one of them masturbate then MAYBE the other sim will ask to join in. That won't always work either.
My 3 other sets of sims do it just fine, it's only recently that this problem has started. 

I have allowed all the available options that should let this happen (which is basically giving each sim the incest trait and using Nisa's the make them gay or lesbian), so what else could be the problem? Is there anything that I can do or haven't done?

I don't really mess with my WW settings much anymore, but there is a setting for autonomy (unless it was removed because its been a long while since I've really messed with them in depth). The only other thing that might help you is to add the "hyper sexual" lot trait, but that might cause your sims to have sex too much, plus any visiting sim will also have sex on the lot.

Thank you both very much. 

I went through all my settings and changed them as I wanted. I also updated the mod, just to see if that was the problem. Everything is working like I wanted EXCEPT one specific sim. It was two, but in an attempt to try and fix them, I just remade them both from scratch. WW wasn't even acknowledging them as sims (when running an autonomy test, there would find 0 sims despite them being right there). One of them seems to be fixed, so now I'm just try to fix the other one...

I'm still testing things out to see if anything is conflicting or would stop them. After changing something, I test it through the commands (like ww.test_sex_autonomy_sims to see if the compatibility changed). I changed my settings to the ones Scorpio posted (barring pregnancy ones which I disabled), so maybe trying that would help. Have you updated WW?

Well. I may have spoken too soon as mine seems bugged out now, figures.

 

Autonomous sex only works when I have the Intensity set to 'Extreme'.

Extreme is too frequent, my sim's can't even eat or shower before going at it again.

Changing the Autonomy Specifics/Intensity number higher than 0.01(default) has no effect to slow things down. 

 

Changed back to 'High' and now I'm still waiting for it to happen.

2 sims at home, very flirty, romance maxed, and now none of the romance moves will trigger auto sex.

(I use to use this setting and adjust the above mentioned setting to 0.04-5 to get the sex intervals I liked)

And when another sim came visiting it didn't take long before asking for sex, even without any using romance moves.

 

Even went to the Autonomy Specifics/Romance menu and changed the number to 1.0 (MAX).

Any romance actions from sims should trigger sex but don't.

 

Cooldown times have all been lowered from default.

 

Edit: found the problem, Relationships/Stay Faithful switch was re-enabled when switching from 'Extreme' to 'High' Intensity.

Yes, I'm using latest version of WW. 

I cleaned game save and deleted all of WW files and reinstalled everything. 

But WW Autonomy sex still doesn't work.

 

I'll try to change some of the setting you and scorpio mentioned.

Add :  Change setting didn't work for me. 

I used command 'ww.test_sex_autonomy' and

the result says that failed to find a sex location for the comfort location style.

I changed the location style all checked. But still not working.

Maybe the sims are too shy? I know that sometimes my sims don't want to have sex when there are sims in their home, even if they are in a separate room with a locked door. To avoid this, I gave them the exhibition trait (I have a mod that allows you to give sims however many traits you want whenever you want). Could that be it?

Also what is your autonomy intensity?

 

Edit: I gave up on the sim I was trying to fix and just made a whole new pair of sims. However, WW is recognizing one but not the other again (recognizes the Young Adult aunt but not the Teen niece) and I'm still trying to figure out why. Every time I test anything with her present (even when she was the only one on the whole lot), it says no sims available.

My sims aren't shy. They often did sex in public place a few days ago. 

I tried autonomy Intensity set to 'Extreme'. But not working. (I mean NO SIMS SEX AT ALL. )

I'm very frustrated.

Solved:  I kind of figure it out. 

In my case, I added new sex animation and suddenly autonomy sex worked.

Actually I don't like that sims sex all around so I disabled almost floor and custom location animation. 

Maybe this is the problem. 

 

Anyway I don't want to change any of it, until this bug or what is fixed. 

Have you ever tried to change animation setting? (It might help you, too)

You will have to enable Teen Sex, Teen Romance, and Teen Nudity first.

Not so sure it's a bug, more like messed up settings or corrupted files/saves.

Download Mike24's animations if you haven't yet, and/or others, more animations gives you a much better variety. 

 

As long as you have beds, and bed animations, they should use them.

Same for Sofa's and other 'objects'.

 

You can also change the preferred comfort locations number to get sims to use the beds more often.

 

WW Settings/Sex/Autonomy/Specifics/Sex Locations Sample Size:
    (8 Default (Sims will use 'anything but' a bed 98% of the time))
    (1 Minimum (Sims will 'use' a bed 98% of the time, if available))

 

Sims will still use other objects if no bed is available on the lot.

That's the thing, all Teen options are enabled. She is the only teen sim not being recognized. 
As for the incest aspect, I didn't want universal incest, so I only gave the trait to the sims I wanted to have it and that has worked so far, only not for this particular sim. 

I went through all the settings and changed them to how I wanted them. I even saved the edits and imported them back into the game just to make sure. 

I'm not sure what is wrong with this particular sim.

 

Anything I thought could be the problem, I tested using different families. I thought maybe it was the age gap, but no. Then I tested to see if it was because one sim was a female with a d*ck but that didn't matter either. Then I tested to see if it was because of how they were related but that didn't matter either not did it matter if they had Nisa's gay trait. I'm gonna go through my files and run a few more tests to see if that matters...

 

Edit: So, I figured out one fix. If I make a new family and then put them in Windenburg, whichever one is listed second won't be recognized by WW. I put them in Oasis Springs instead and while the incest trait isn't working yet, at least WW is recognizing the Teen sim.

It sounds more like a game bug to me, only because it's not a common issue with others.

Something may be corrupted, unless it's another mod causing it.

Maybe try doing an Origin Repair Install?

Ok, I'll try that next. Though would that require me to update my game? I'm still at the game version before the massive visual overhaul. 

 

Also, I cleared my game cache and that seemed to fix the recognition problem. (learned how from this article: https://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/help/cache.php )

WickedWhims is generally designed to work with most recent game versions. If you don't have one of versions 1.51.77, 1.52.100, 1.53.115, 1.54.120, then that could be part of the problem.

Good point! I actually thought that my mod being outdated was the problem so, I did check before I updated the mod  just to make sure I could even do that, and I'm running version 1.52.100.

One other thought that I don't think has been mentioned in this thread - if you have CNWW, make sure that's updated to the absolute latest version (I think a new one just went up earlier today). There was a recent update for it that borked autonomy for some users.

 

Otherwise, it's really strange that individual sims are having autonomy issues. I'd definitely do an Origin repair if you haven't. I don't think it would require you to update to the latest version, though that may be one way to fix some of the issues, too.

 

The Sims 4 is full of bugs itself, so you could be running into some sort of weird game bug that you just happen to be noticing via WickedWhims. I recently created a mermaid family in CAS, put them in the world, and then when I went to play them, one of the sims wasn't being registered as a mermaid. I could even go back into CAS and see her mermaid form, but in live mode, she wasn't one. Classic Sims 4 bugginess!

To be completely honest and transparent, I'm simply the kind of person that doesn't like to update if they don't seem to have a reason too. I do want to figure out why WW is not recognizing certain sims, but the rest of the game is completely fine. So, I didn't see the need to update yet...

I guess you don't plan on buying any more EP's like Island Living, etc.

Updates include bug fixes too, some of which, are probably not even mentioned in the details.

 

Just the typical response to those having problems with mods or WW is... "do you have everything up to date ?"

 

That's normally the first thing that should be done in trying to solve uncommon game issues.

No, not any time soon anyway. When I do, then I'll go ahead and update. But until then...

EDIT: I cleared the cache files and  took a break from the game for a few days. When I came back, everything was working fine! Both sims were recognized, while in their house in Windenburg, and within minutes of moving them back into their house and changing their attractiveness criteria back to what it was before, the autonomy immediately activated. So, thank you all for all your help!
