Deleting bones in nifskope

I have a shoe nif that has a large number of bones attached to it that aren't used.  The only bones I need are L/R Calf, L/R Foot, L/R Toe.  I have exported/imported both the foot and the shoes to ojb files yet the bones remain attached. I thought making an item an ojb file remove all extranious information like the bones, textures, maps, etc. How can I delete the extra bones or do I? I've attached a ss of the nif in nifskope.

Did you load the .OBJ files back into the same nifs? If yes then that would be the reason as the bone will be removed from the shoe and foot but will still be present in the nif.

Load the nifs into nifskope and go to spells - optimize - remove bogus nodes. This will remove all nodes that are not attached to anything from the nif then overwrite the nifs.

Other way would be to load the nifs into outfit studios and go to the bone tab and delete all of them from the list that you want to remove and then export the files from outfit studios.

Also moved from general discussion and moved to skyrim tech support section.

Bless you my child. That did the trick. It's so refreshing to get solid advice rather than the "hmm.. try this" approach I usually get.  I learned something new about Nifskope today. Thanks you so much.
