Demonwise Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 So I just upgraded everything to a brand new monster rig desktop and I am moving everything over to it. For Oblivion I re-downloaded it from steam and then took the entire Oblivion folder from my old computer and dumped it onto my new computer overriding everything in the transfer. Now I am just working out some of the kinks. I have encountered one that I can't figure out. I am almost certain that it has nothing to do with the load order of the game. I am pretty sure is is a file that needs to be re-installed but I am not sure what file. Anyway onto the problem itself. When my character is nude in 3rd person she is fine but in 1st person parts of her body (I'm pretty sure its her boobs) fly off into Oblivion (pun intended). The attached screenshot will show you more of what I am talking about.
Ark of Truth Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 You have not installed the correct skeleton or have not activated archive invalidation. Skeleton: Make sure to install the CONTROLLABLE option of this one (Same as ones other will post but makes BBB work on corpses) http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/40739 Archive Invalidation is done like so: - Open Oblivion Mod Manager - Select 'Utilities' on the right side of the window. - Select 'Archive Invalidation' - Select 'BSA Redirection' - Click on 'Update Now'
Demonwise Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 I may be wrong but if it were a skeleton issue wouldn't her boobs or other parts of her body also be flying all over the place in 3rd person as well as 1st person?
Ark of Truth Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 I may be wrong but if it were a skeleton issue wouldn't her boobs or other parts of her body also be flying all over the place in 3rd person as well as 1st person? Not always. You have a broken 1st person skeleton the 3rd is a body one. Try installing Wrye Bash 295. That sometimes solves it as well for some weird reason. http://sourceforge.net/projects/oblivionworks/files/Wrye%20Bash/Wrye%20Bash%20295/Wrye%20Bash%20295%20-%20Installer.exe/download
gregathit Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 If this is happening with a naked body this it generally is a skeleton issue. You may have installed a mod that came with a skeleton that overwrote the one that you were using that worked. If this happens only with a particular outfit on then it could be a broken nif. If the stretching was purple that can sometimes be a missing texture.
Demonwise Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 well here is what I am confused about then I have installed the compatablity skeleton 3 or 4 times just to make sure that I did it right. After each time I have run the archive invalidation in OBMM set for BSA Redirection and each and every time I am still getting body parts flying off into no man's land. Not sure what the problem is here.
GSBmodders Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 if you are using mods that come with bsa files one of those could contain a skeleton that is screwing you over. you could also be running into an issue where your save file is retaining that old information. if you have wrye bash then rebuild your patch and the in the saved games section relevel the npc's this will clear that out. if you are not using bash then try equiping and unequiping a set of armor sometimes that will do the trick as well. one more thing to try if all else fails. open your data folder, locate and delete the 3rd person skeleton, then locate and delete the 1st person skeleton. windows will sometimes decide that it dosnt care if you want to over write a file it's going to do wtf ever it wants to do. so once those are deleted install growlfs skeleton again. sadly there is little alternative as the last time i checked nexus mod manager was geared torward skyrim and completely sucked ass when it come to doing anything for oblivion.
Demonwise Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 So I haven't entirely fixed the problem yet but I have had a couple interesting turn of events. In response to GSBmodders last post I started to examine any mods that may contain a skeleton that could be screwing things up. Since I use the SetBody mod in-game to change my body that was the first thing that I changed by re-installing it. Now this is where it gets a little interesting. All the HGEC bodies are having this issue with the skeleton. However if I chose some other random body then the problem no longer persists. I would add one last thing. I recall that on my other computer (the one where all these files are coming from) I had taken a lot of the HGEC bodies through Blender and used the BB Weightpainting script on them to smooth out the breast weighting. I don't know if that could have caused problems when those files got transferred onto my new computer but then again I feel like all of my custom files would have been overwritten when I re-installed the SetBody mod.
Demonwise Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 So actually I just had a fantastic breakthrough. I upon taking the advice of GSBmodders removed some of the BSA files that were for mods and I am pretty sure I now know what was causing the problem. It was the VTOY bsa files for Claudia's Little Secret. Removed those and all of a sudden my character's boobs go back to normal. Probably just re-installing Claudia's Little Secret with also clear up any issues in the bsa files. Thanks everyone!
gregathit Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Grumpf may have a custom skeleton in that bsa which could be causing the problems. Reinstalling CLS won't help you if you put that bsa back.
Grumpf Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Nope I didn't hardcoded a skeleton in my BSAs but even if I did (which I didn't ) your decompressed skeleton.nif in the folder would take precedence over it. Let's start the whole thing over. Download CLS runtime, the skeletons there are B4 compatible so I'm certain of them. Be sure to overwrite the one in the _male folder (skeleton and skeletonbeast) and the one in the _1stPerson. Check again, if the problem persists, you need to play with archive invalidation and the folks here know far more about that than I. Keep us posted!
