Grey Cloud Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 Swapped out some HDDs yesterday. Skyrim works; NMM works; Bodyslide works; FNIS works. LOOT and TESVEdit will not work. I uninstalled and I rebooted and I cried the whole night long. TESVEdit appears to be looking at the old file path and I cannot figure a way to stop it. Unless it is something in the registry
bandygirl1 Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 Can you not set the new file path simply by using the supported tools dropdown in NMM and navigating to the new executable location?

Yes I can but that only gets me to the exe for LOOT or XEdit it doesn't help me point them to where Skyrim is. I actually deleted this thread due to the forum software and 3d Paint doing my head in.

On a serious note, aren't they in their own file in the Skyrim folder? That being the case, there shouldn't be an issue.

No. LOOT's default file path is C:\Program Files (x86)\LOOT and TESVEdit doesn't install as such, just runs from its exe. The message from TESVEdit is Fatal: Error loading plugin list: <EDirectoryNotFoundException: The specified path was not found> Why it cannot find anything I have no idea. All that happened was that Skyrim went from drive F: to drive D:. I can't recall ever seeing that screen before (may be wrong) and Skyrim is the only game on the list that I have. No matter what I do on this screen it always leads to this next one It doesn't help that I just moved to W10 and can't stand it. With NMM, FNIS, BS and SKSE I just changed the drive letter on the shortcuts and whatnot.

Between UAC permission problems, ect I would HIGHLY recommend not placing your third party modding tools inside Program Files (x86). Best practice, create new folders named TESVEdit and Loot, place them in your Skyrim root directory, and extract the archives in their respective new folders. I would uninstall both. Set them up that way, reconfigure your executable paths through NMM, and see if that solves your issue.

I never install anything there, that was just the default location LOOT was set to install to. My point was that LOOT if left to its own devices would not install in the Skyrim folder nor would TESVEdit which doesn't install anyway. I'll try installing LOOT in the Skyrim folder.
