Overlord Shire Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Hello to you all. I've had some experiences with Merge Plugins recently and things were working pretty well. Then I decided to reinstall the game and make another playthrough, focusing more on immersion mods and stuff, since I thought, hey, plugin limit is not an issue anymore. Wrong. Things went terribly wrong, I'm experiencing a lot of issues. I'll list some here, that I've identified, so you guys have an idea. Spoiler ° A Matter of Time causes crashes whenever I accesss it's MCM configurations, and this happens when there is different mods enabled. -- I'll try disable everything but it whenever I have free time, and make the changes I want and see if things will work. ° My merges, which were working one time, and suddenly, they stopped working at all. However, there were some times when I could only get to the character creation screen before getting CTDs, or get past the character creation screen AND THEN get CTDs, or when trying to go outdoor, and lastly, get random CTDs after some minutes. ° There where even a time where my main mods and combat mods, combined with my graphic and visual stuff made crashes. -- But that is aparently fixed, as I sorted out the load order with LOOT ° My merged armors/weapons are causing CTDs. This never happened before, I'm scared. _____________________________________ These are the issues I'm having, and I'm like, 90% sure I'm doing something wrong, I have lots of suspicions, but I don't really know if any of them is sure, since when I try to smash down the issue, a new one just pops up. My main suspicions are Spoiler ° There are too many scripts loading at the same time, which causes CTD. When I start a new game, I got like 70+ MCM menus, altough I've seen people with more and running a stable game. -- I'm planning to try to enable tiny parts of it, one at a time, and see if things will work out. But before that, I have to fix the merges, since they're essential. ° There's some conflict ish stuff going on the priority table (I use MO2) ° There's some conflict ish stuff going on the load order ° There's some conflict ish stuff going on the merged mods which I'm making ° I'm merging mods way too heavy scripted -- That's probably an issue, I'm gonna check it later, but I'm still trying to solve the A Matter of Time issue ° I'm running up too many texture mods. -- Maybe, dunno ° I'm having some weird shit regarding access elevation whenever I run MO2. -- I don't know what this is, never had it. My guess, it shoud've started when I decided to make another playthrough and forgot to delete the old skyrim, and so, I had made two instances on MO2 by accident. ° My crash dumps also metion some stuff like access elevation, but instead it's access violation. Googled it, didn't get a straight answer, some people say it's driver, mine is updated. Some say it's Windows, possibly, in short words, I'm suspicious. ° Maybe the compatibility patches, I have some, altough not many, I guess, and I'm even missing some. ---I'd like to know if there is a way possible to shorten them, since there is a lot of them out there. ______________________________________ For some help, I'll list here some valuable info about the programs I'm using, system specs and that stuff Spoiler Game --- Skyrim SE v.1.5.80, steam verseion. It's also running on SSD. SKSE64 --- 2.00.16 Mod manager --- Mod Organizer 2 v2.2.0(final). It's running on SSD Mods --- They're not stored on the SSD, I don't have enough space. System specs: WINDOWS 10 64bit 12GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB AMD FX(tm)-4300 Quad-Core Processor _______________________________________ A thought Spoiler Lastly, I'd like to ask you people if there is another way to increase the plugin load order by some creative means. I'm already aware of the Wrye Bash tool and the ESLification, but neither seems to work for me, since my load order doesn't have much plugins that can become a Bashed Patch, or do I have enough mods that can be ESLified to make a difference. Oh, and the ESLified esps are not being saved, another headache. I would use SSEdit more often, if I knew how to use it. I'm not trying to be spoiled or shameless for asking help before seeking it out on my own, but the tutorials out there seem to complex, altough I'm aware it's simple. Maybe I just have some difficulty on learning it. I humbly, truly, request your knowledge regarding this. On the final case, I'll just send all my time right toward the thrash and rebuild it all again _____________________________________ Modlist below. No load order though, I don't have a stable one, and I'm still testing it. https://modwat.ch/u/Shire/modlist Here are some notes about it: Spoiler What has "_MERGED_" in its name, its merged, and not actually active. I just activated to show everything. The armors and weapons activated where the lot I couldn't merge. The same goes for some "[IMMERSION]" and "[OVERHAUL]" mods, but not all of them. I don't use both the TBD body and CBBE body. ________________________________ I believe that's all folks. I humbly and desperately ask for y'all good people's wisdom. Old me has been trying to set up Skyrim for almost a month right now. I'm on vacation, and it will soon ends, and probably I won't have as much time to sit here and set my brain in fire to figure out what's the crux of this issue, or that one. I'm sorry for the long post, I'm just a crazy foolish modder who wants to play a heavily modded Skyrim, and lacks the experience to do so. And... that's all for now. I've truly ended this post. I guess if I don't fix this before my vacation end, I'll just have some fun testing the co-op mod that has been going on for now, Skyrim together. If you stumble upon me out there in the public servers, shout me Hi. I'll go by the name Kendov. Appreciate all your time, thank you all.
Grey Cloud Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 The first and most obvious thing would be to remove your merges. Did you try the game without mods after you had reinstalled? Did you load a few mods and try the game? Or did you just reinstall and throw mods at it?
Overlord Shire Posted July 24, 2019 Author Posted July 24, 2019 I did remove the merges, but they where just another problem, whereas other mods would also cause problems. I had also tried the game without mods, and it did worked, and I also went on installing one at a time, and all went well. That is, until I met some weird mod conflicts like, one interface mod crashing when there is some different mods that do nothing regarding interface. That mod was not the only one, there were others that worked well, but as I was installing the rest of them, some of the ones that did work, stopped, albeit, not all of them. To take notes, not all of these mods showed they were conflicting with any mod. And when they did, most of them where just overriding files that shouldn't have nothing similar. Wish you a good gaming, pal.
Overlord Shire Posted July 24, 2019 Author Posted July 24, 2019 For now, I'll try to do some things that may or not lessen my problems. So far, I'm planning the following: I'll try to clean all my mods Update their FormIDs to 44 Make new merges with these mods Test these merges If the merges do not work, I'll check on info about them, use NifScope and see if there are any mesh errors, or maybe, as a last resort, try disabling a few of them, and hopefully, this works. I don't know what I'll do next, but this is my current goal
Overlord Shire Posted July 25, 2019 Author Posted July 25, 2019 Well, tried run the game alone with only the merged armor and weapons, but the merged armor gave me CTDs. I'll investigate that now. EDIT: Altough I had CTD when browsing through the items from the merge using AddItemMenu, the gameplay was still smooth. I tried going to Riverwood and cleared the Embershad Mine without CTD. My guess is that there is probably some mesh/file corrupted.
Overlord Shire Posted July 25, 2019 Author Posted July 25, 2019 Ok, so I'm running almost all mods and no CTDs so far. But then I tried enabling the INTERFACE mods which I have, and boom, I got a CTD at character creation. Gonna check thoroughly all of them.
Overlord Shire Posted July 25, 2019 Author Posted July 25, 2019 I managed to get the interface mods working now. I don't really know what happened that they are working now, probably it was the priority order they where in MO2. For now, the only thing I need to is to rebuild three merges, that I did not have any issues before, just to be safe. Once that's done, I believe everything will be fine.
Overlord Shire Posted July 26, 2019 Author Posted July 26, 2019 The game is running smooth-ish now. My suspicions was that there were conflicts within the priority order (only present in MO2) and load order. After carefully merging some mods and thoroughly inspecting almost all of them, I managed to make the game run. Albeit, there are still some bugs, but no CTD. I managed to play for about 80 minutes straight. Thank you all for the help.
fnvegasguy Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 I seem to be experiencing a problem where (so far) I seem to CTD upon entering certain buildings, mainly the taverns. The Bannered Mare works fine, but I tried entering the tavern in Solitude and Morthal recently and it throws me to the desktop. I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to finding mod conflicts and such, so what would be the easiest/most helpful way to uncover what the issue is?

The most feasible is to see if you have any mods that make any change to the buildings, or add something in it. If you you do not find anything, then you should check your mods for any conflict, issue or maybe an outdated mod.
fnvegasguy Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 I tried using SSEEdit to check for any conflicts but I can't make heads or tales of it. I saw in a different post that uploading a papyrus log might help so I figure I'll try that and see if someone can direct me to a clear answer or at least a step in the right direction. I tried a new character and made it into several taverns no problem, but loaded my main and went to the same places, CTD each time. There was also one occasion where I crashed upon taking a carriage to a new town. Papyrus.0.log
