Skin texture not working

I installed the Fair Skin Complexion and now there's a huge difference between face and body textures. I tried re-installing the mod but it made no difference, and I can't find it in the load order either. Is it a problem with the mod or is there something else with it?

I removed the previous skin textures manually but this didn't seem to help.

 

I'm using Vortex and so far it's worked well enough. I use ENBoost but no ENB since my game becomes incredibly laggy with any preset.

You have something overwriting your body texture. The hands and head are using the Fair Skin textures.

You won't find Fair Skin  in your load order because skin texture mods don't have an .esp file. They are only textures. We might be able to help you if you can post a mod list instead of your load order.

What does it look like when your PC is naked?

This affects every non-beast female, yes?

Yeah, it looks the same as the screenshot, the body is different from hands, feet and head.

I'd look at Skin Feature Overlays - Freckles Scars Birthmarks Stretch Marks Moles and More. Not saying it is your problem, as I'm not familiar with it.

Data/Textures/Actors/Character/Female/

you should have 4 x Body, 4 x hands and 4 x head .dds files.

 

Did you use the FOMOD when you installed the mod?

Just spotted this. I agree, looking at the screenie she appears to be covered in freckles/moles.

The Overlays are added via the Makeup section in Racemenu though.

 

And yes, I used the FOMOD. I installed the optimized version of the main file.

Then try removing them to see if your problem goes away.

I disabled the mod, and got the notification to confirm so, and it made no difference.

You didn't have to remove the mod, just removing any overlays from the PC would have done it.

 

Is this affecting every NPC or just your PC?

Before adding the overlays the problem was still there.

 

I ended up switching the skin texture to the one I used previously and the problem's gone, so I assume it was caused by leftover textures.

It's still happening. I removed everything from the actors/character/female folder, validated local files and reinstalled the textures I wanted to use.

 

I don't have the problem with the UUNP Foxed skin texture but I do with the Pure Skin, Bijin skin and Unslaad.

Not sure about Pure Skin but I use Bijin skin, Unslaad, Fair Skin and Foxed all in the same game and do not have any problems with any of them.

 

If this is just affecting your PC then it would point to something you are doing or have done, perhaps in Racemenu. If it only affecting Nords then it would point to something wrong with Nords.

 

Is the problem there on the default presets or does it pop in at some point in character creation?

Hi, Foxed Skin author here.
If you installed my skin and want another skin overwriiting it, you'll need to get rid of the esp so any body weight above 0 doesn't get overwritten by the normal map changer and diffuse changer.
