CryptHammer Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 I've recently reinstalled Skyrim fresh. I have Steam (and thereby Skyrim) installed in C:\Games\ and I use ModOrganizer 2 for mod management. I use LOOT for sorting mods, and I run FNIS every time I install or uninstall a mod relating to animation. I have cleaned my master files with TES5Edit. I have SKSE version 1.9.32 and FNIS XXL 7.4.5 with fewer than 10k animations installed (the point at which the mod author says that CTDs become significantly more common). I have not created a bashed patch, though I intend to do so, even though I don't fully understand the purpose of a bashed patch or what that process actually does. I know it says I have a bashed patch in my load order, but it's not loaded in MO2 and was simply generated when I opened Wrye Bash. I was waiting to bash it until I had all of my mods installed. I use Bodyslide 2.0 and have the UUNP HDT Leyenda skin (All-in-One animated Pussy, I believe is the name). Nonetheless, I still experience frequent CTDs, either on game load or randomly throughout gameplay. I have a level 1 character that I started using CCAS as the daughter of Adrianne Avenicci (I have Family Ties installed) in Whiterun, because I like to start the main quest right away and that gives me a fast travel point near Helgen. I've generated a papyrus log and a modlist, as well as the order of mods installed on the left side of MO2 (not sure what it's called, but the part where it lists the order in which assets are loaded). I'm pretty careful about always confirming dependencies and conflicts before I install any mod. Maybe I missed something, but I'm relatively certain that none of my mods conflict with each other and I have all mod dependencies installed. Currently, I'm experiencing a regular CTD between Riverwood and the Standing Stones, just to the south of Riverwood. I'm not sure if it's a time related crash (i.e. I've spent x amount of time in the game and it always crashes at that time) or if it's an event related crash (i.e. I do something that causes the crash), because it seems relatively random and doesn't occur after any particular events or actions. I also experience a CTD on trying to load that save game, but if I load an earlier save and then load the newest save, I can start the game fine, if that made any sense. The first papyrus log (papyrus.1.log) is the CTD on trying to load the game that occurs regularly. The second (papyrus.0.log) is the CTD on walking from Riverwood to Helgen. I know very little about reading papyrus logs, but two things stand out to me: 1) it says that it doesn't detect the Unofficial Skyrim Patch even though it's clearly loaded in MO2, and 2) there are several DCUR related (Deviously Cursed Loot, I think?) errors that suggest I'm missing a file. Assistance with this would be greatly appreciated. I honestly feel like it's probably an issue with either a bad in game configuration or bad options selection on certain mod installations that provide options for installation and it's probably easily fixed, but I have no idea where to look for an answer. Also, as a side note, all of the dogs seem to have two purple penises. While having two penises might seem like a novel idea, one is attached to the end of the other, and honestly it just looks really uncomfortable for the dogs. I have MNC v12 installed, and according to the mod page, the main mod file contains meshes. Not sure if I'm supposed to get textures somewhere else, nor do I understand why dogs have 2 penises. That's a minor issue, however, compared to my regular CTDs. Mod Load Order: # This file was automatically generated by Mod Organizer. Neko-Barbare Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 For your CTD on the road to the standing stones and helgen I believe it's because of the map loading or an event that can't accur (I'm not a pro for papyrus logs but it sometimes is self explaining) : Element of property RiftenCells on script dcur_supplyquestscript attached to dcur_supplyQuest (3E0E756E) cannot be bound because <NULL form> (00042249) is not the right type. For your CTD when you load a save try this : -In the main menu (the one with the skyrim emblem) enter in the console and write : "coc qasmoke". You will enter the test room. -In the test room save ones. Then enter the console and write : "player.kill". While you are dying load the save you can't load earlier. -If you achieve to load your save then reenter in the console and write ones again : "player.kill" -Wait until you die completly and that the game reload your save. Then save. Hope it helps you !
Grey Cloud Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 Do you use these stability tools? They will significantly reduce the number of CTDs. Crash fixeshttps://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725/ SKSE Plugin Preloaderhttps://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75795/? ENBoost (not needed if already using an ENB)https://wiki.step-project.com/ENBoost CTDs at different times and places are generally down to VRAM issues. The above tools will deal with that. If the crashes are around or close to animals then it might be the problem below. If you are already using Crash Fixes then you will need to uninstal MNC v12 and install v11. There is an issue with CF v12 and MNC V12 though it may have been resolved by now. Check the MNC support thread. It could of course be both problems. The cause of the CTDs wont be in the Papyrus, that's not what Papyrus logs do. I haven't looked but I would imagine that the log is saying you have not got the individual unofficial patches (DB, DG, HF) which is true because you have the LE verson.

This is totally incorrect. How can a cell in Riften cause a CTD near Riverwood? Papyrus logs are buffered which means that when the CTD occurs the log is several seconds behind and does not get to log what it was doing at that time. In any case, Papyrus is scripts and CTDs are 99% memory.

I thought that a cell in Riften was not correctly bound with the event which would be triggered in Riverwood and then cause the CTD. I'm really sorry for the bad tips.
CryptHammer Posted June 25, 2019 Author Posted June 25, 2019 I tried using an ENB briefly and quickly aborted because I don't really know what I'm doing and I don't want to break something. I was trying to use the Unbleak ENB, and when I implemented it, I ended up with nasty, pasty colors, a lot of graphical noise, and a really low framerate. I was following the guide HeroedLeyenda posted on Youtube, but I think it was more due to my lack of knowledge about whan an ENB is and does than her guide. What differentiates ENBoost from an ENB, and should I run one over the other? I honestly thought using an ENB would compound the problem because my knowledge of graphics can be summed up in the phrase, "If it looks better, it probably costs more resources, ie vram." But if it's optimizing, then that may be false. I'm going to give the crash fixes a try first. Thanks so much, guys, and don't feel bad, Neko. I appreciated your input anyway.

ENBoost is the memory management part of an 'ENB'. What people commonly refer to as an ENB, e.g. Unbleak, is a preset - the graphaical enhancer part. You can run ENBoost with a preset but you cannot run a preset without ENBoost. Everyone who runs modded Skyrim should run ENBoost. The S.T.E.P. guide will explain it better. Use all three of the tools.

Nothing I can't figure out on my own. I used TES5Edit and a cleaning tutorial to clean the masters, so I think Grey Cloud was right when he suggested vram as a problem. 18 hours ago, MadMansGun said: "hdt All-in-One" and bash/smash patches are both known to do these sort of things: hdt All-in-One has outdated meshes that are using the wrong texture paths, therefor purple penis. bash/smash patches are known to fuck up the body template flags, that can do all sorts of odd things, sounds like 2 dick in this case. Or I can just pretend all dogs have purple dildos instead of penises. 18 hours ago, MadMansGun said: looks a bit off: I used LOOT to sort my load order. Is LOOT wrong? ENBoost, Crash Fixes and SKSE Plug-in Preloader mentioned in post #3. Leave the preset part until you have a stable game.

I tried a preset, but I can't say I was that impressed, so I'll probably just go without it. I followed the instructions to the letter, and my fps dropped from 60 (locked to my refresh rate) to 30, and for a rather insignificant graphics improvement. Skyrim doesn't look bad without an ENB, so I'll probably just remove the preset. Thanks again for all your help guys.
