HDT-SMP Just... Does not work.

Indeed, yet another person complaining about being unable to get SMP to work. But I retain hope that there will be someone on these forums kind enough to help me. For the past 8 hours or so I've been tearing my hair out trying to get it to work. But it simply, does not. I have no error codes, no freezing, no CTDs, not even deformed physics objects. There is simply, nothing. No physics at all are applied to the relevant objects (in this case, bodies).

> Installed and ran FNIS several times.

> Tried to use it on 2 different versions of skyrim (1.5.73 and 1.5.80).
> Tried reinstalling XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended multiple times (using both HDT and TBBP settings during installation).
> Tried reinstalling CBBE with all possible different combinations of options during installation.
> Tried reinstalling Bodyslide and Outfit Studio with all possible combinations of options during installation.

> Tried both with and without "Realistic Ragdolls and Force".

> Tried following this thing to the letter, but made no progress as the files contained therein isn't compatible with any version of SKSE that I know of.

> Tried using base SMP files to replace the one contained within the above, but this yielded no results.
> Tried re-running FNIS again, just to be on the safe side.

 

And throughout it all, no hints of results at all. Any thoughts?

Yeah, i'm having this problem as well. Doesn't work at all, tried reinstalling/disabling all mods except for SMP and body mesh, checked all settings and order in which things are set up, but for some reason nothing is working. GPU-Z said that OpenGL wasn't computing before, so i had to reinstall the Nvidia drivers - now it's computing, but SMP doesn't work still. (I'm on Windows 10)

I had it working last month, then I played other characters and installed/removed a few mods now it refuses to work. Permanently.

0. Make sure you updated skse to 1.5.80 (if you don't have SKSE, install it https://skse.silverlock.org/
1. Install XMPSSE (pick physics option obviously (real physics, not fake one)): https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1988/
2. Get HDT libraries and install them (into SKSE folder):

4. Install Physics Config (your preference):

Don't install both!
5. Install/ update Bodyslide and outfit studio to latest version:

6. Install CBBE and also CBBE's SMP config (CBBE SMP Config v1.0.6), found under optional files:

7. Now the important part to make CBBE and HDT actually work together:
7a. Overwrite hdtSSEPhysics with CBBE SMP
7b. Edit defaultBBPs file with text editor (notepad or any other) (\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SKSE\Plugins\hdtSkinnedMeshConfigs\defaultBBPs.xml) to

<default-bbps>
</default-bbps>
7c. Download SKSE fixes https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17230 for preloader functionality.
Create two empty text files undrer \skse\plugins :
hdtSSEFramework_preload.txt
hdtSSEPhysics_preload.txt
!!! step 7 is complete, no need to rename any .dll files, unless you're running an old version of Skyrim SE, in this case refer to the last sticky post !!!
8. Build body in Bodyslide, pick CBBE physics or CBBE special, both will have physics, special will also have v-genie
9. Install FNIS, run it! Make sure to check Skeleton arm fix: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3038/?
10. If done correctly it should all work.
Install some physics enabled outfits or replacers for armor, or get naked and enjoy.
It sounds like a hard thing but actually it's super easy if you can read and follow instructions as advised.
One of the most important steps is #7 - without it, CBPC and HDT will clash like mad.

How exactly do I do this? I still can not get these 2 to work together, my character's arms droop endlessly at the wrist. It seems to work when I turn off HDT SMP in vortex, but then my character's hair stretches out to the side endlessly.

The terminology "overwrite this with that" is a reference to load order.

 

it means hdtSSEPhysics should load first, then CBBE SMP.

AFAIK, if you're running Skyrim 1.5.97, HDT-SMP is one of the mods you want. Nexus has it.

Not sure if 1.5.97 requires hdtSSEPhysics or not. (I'm still using 1.5.80)

 

Check in the requirements section and read the HDT-SMP description and Posts tabs for that mod.

hdtSSEHH_1_5_80 (I think this one is highheels but I don't use it)
