Mez558 Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 So this is something I've had for a while but is easily resolved so it's never really bothered me. When Skyrim crashes (not CTD but hangs or black screen with window saying Skyrim has crashed) and I have to endtask on it, my PC runs like dogshit after. I can't see any other process that is causing it to run so slow but something is still running. My only thought is the script extender is still trying to run scripts but that's just an idiots guess. The fix is easy, restart skyrim and exit cleanly (console - qqq works fine) but anyone know what is causing it and if there is a way to resolve it other than restarting skyrim?
Grey Cloud Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 At a guess I'd say that you have Crash Fixes, ENBoost/ENB, or some other memory tool configured incorrectly. When does it hang with the black screen and what is providing the message?
Tiruil Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 It is pissible you have an issue of disk use being maxed out on your machine ? Regardless of CPU type and RAM total, Skyrim cant use more than 4GB with a memory patch. So something is then running at high disk use thus maxing out your PC performance, normally this is due to a faluty something imn the drive. However do you use Windows 10 ? I get this issue as well however when shutting down Skyrim not when it crashes
