cailic Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 Eventually Skyrim will be released on GOG.com. At least I hope so. On that day I will purchase Skyrim on GOG and never return to Steam. I know there are a few modders who are battling against pirating and made their mods tied into Steam some how. My question is will these mods be "fixed" when the GOG version is finally released?

The closest thing to that I've seen is modders claiming that their mods (and most other mods) won't work on cracked installs, but I think they're mostly just fibbing. Whether or not the mods you're speaking of will be updated for a GoG Skyrim will just depend on the whims and availability of the mods' individual makers, which is really unreliable in general so someone else will probably just make patches (cracks) to remove those mods' anti-piracy quirks. I wouldn't worry, loads of Skyrim modders love to preserve and keep relevant old stuff, if an official no-steam version becomes available someone will make everything work.

I hope so. I guess I mainly wanted to make this post to bring Modders attention to it before they move on and completely forget about Skyrim.

I'm kinda hoping they will focus on the SE version and let the LE version go to greener pastures. Since Silverlock doesn't seem to be to interested in the SE version, most of my mods wouldn't work anyway.
