Fenguard Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 [RimWorld] No Incest Judging View File Edit: With the suggestion and the help of nugerumon I've made this mod into a patch of the game's file rather than a direct edit, which should make it a lot more compatible with other mods. It still sets the opinion debuff others have about incest couples to 0, but no longer makes them as likely to romance as non-incest couples. For that effect I happily recommend the mod Romance Tweaks More Options, it should be usable alongside this one. A quick Def edit that removes the negative opinion debuffs other colonists have about pawns in incest relationships. It also should make blood related pawns as likely to enter relationships with one another as they are to enter them with non-blood related pawns. Ideal for a lax moral Tribal colony, or just perving around with RimJobWorld! It doesn't require RJW if you don't use that though. Requirements I don't think it relies on anything if the Patch function thing is built into RimWorld and not a part of HugsLib Compatibility Should work with anything else, load after other romance tweaking mods though! I've never made a mod before so if I fucked it up feel free to let me know, but I've been using it without issue thus far. Submitter Fenguard Submitted 06/14/2019 Category Misc Adult Mods Requires 3
nugerumon Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Better version here. Why is my version better? More features Patch operation (i.e. doesn't overwrite changes made by other mods) To be fair, in my mod the opinion modifier is only reduced (not set to zero), so if someone really only needs it to be zero and is too afraid to look at xml, use Fenguard's mod here ? @Fenguard: Have a look at my mod to see how to make xml patches. It's better™ (see also in the wiki). I haven't tried your mod, but just simply removing the "attractionFactor" and "incestOpinionOffset" fields from the defs might lead to problems with other mods that try to use xml patching to adjust these values, as a "replace" operation won't find those fields. PS: It's not my intention to discourage you from modding, but provide suggestions how to do things better™. My first mod was overwriting defs, too ? 2

My first mod was overwriting defs, too ? @nugerumon That's pretty much all I did, yeah. removed like 2 lines from each opinion thingymajig. Certainly not the cleanest of mods but I just wanted a quick fix and it SEEMED to not cause a catastrophic breakdown of the game. I did notice when I was looking around for a fix to the incest opinion thing that everywhere else said it was -30 when mine had -15 so i guess that was your doing. Great mod btw, definitely better! I'll see what I can do to make it all xml-y instead. No promises though, I'm lazy and just wanted to be a pervert. 2

The only thing changed is that the about.xml, which only contains meta information, doesn't meet the newly established high standards of RW 1.1 ? 2
Ekorus Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 I hope you will update it, even if it is easy for a user to edit the mod. This thread is tagged "1.0" , which is not in context of RimWorld. Anything with a version "1.0" of anything would be in conflict with that tag.
