nowaydude97 Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 So I have this very annoying problem. When running around on the roofs in places like Lexington and Concord, I have this horrible texture flickering problem. It's distracting and makes it nearly unbearable to play. Texture quality is set to high and I have tried turning anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering on and off and the problem persists. Could someone tell me what's going on here and how I can go about fixing it? Thanks. Oh also, I did have a texture mod installed; Optimized Vanilla Textures from Myst https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1204 I uninstalled that in the hopes that it might have been the problem but nope, flickering is still there. Reginald_001 Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 It's called Z-Fighting and it happens whenever two surfaces occupy the same coordinate space and overlap exactly. The 3D engine of your GFX card does not know which surface to render so it renders them both, which causes the 'flicker' you see. The reason it's there is because likely the roofs weren't designed to be walked on to begin with. (e.g. the mappers never noticed it as they usually don't fix such issues on areas that are usually not visible anyway. No way to fix it but go into the editor and reposition the roof.
D_ManXX2 Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 I think this bug is mod related. have you tried playing without mods and does this happen in vanilla game too ?
