Krisos Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Hi, so I have a problem with JContainers. I have the latest version installed. I also have latest sexlab installed. And the latest SKSE and SKYUI. When I install Creature Framework, it pops up a message claiming I have the old version of JContainers or don't have it installed at all. I use Vortex. I read somewhere that Sexlab has an older version of JContainer built into it. This is probably the case, that the newer version gets overwritten. Slavetats doesn't work either, but SLAL works just fine, and JSON is one of the requirements. My question here is, what should I do? I have posted on the pages of the mods mentioned, but no luck. Is it maybe possible that I have to somehow set JSON as a master file? LOOT wont show it, since JSON doesn't have a plugin. And sorry if this is the wrong place for such a question.
Vedren01 Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 If you think your problems are stemming from JC getting overwritten then just install everything and install the version of JC that you know is the newest last and overwrite when asked to do so.
Arthacs Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Reinstall Skyrim and start using Mod Organizer 2 and never encounter any problems like that again.
Krisos Posted May 9, 2019 Author Posted May 9, 2019 Will try MO2. The problem is, however I download JContainers and every other mod, JContainres gets overwritten.
Hippeus Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 What mods are you using that causes the script assets to get overwritten?
Krisos Posted May 9, 2019 Author Posted May 9, 2019 Could you possibly dumb it down for me? I mean I'm sort of new to modding, but as far as I know I read somewhere that sexlab has jcontainers built into it. I started using MO2 today. But the problem is still there. I have 4 mods atm. SKYUI, Sexlab, Slanim loader(which requires JCon so it does not work) and well JContainers is installed and the latest possible version from Nexus. I am also using SKSE, but I guess that was obvious.
Hippeus Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 Not sure how JContainer is being overwritten with those 4 mods you listed. Cause I have those 4 mods installed with Vortex and it doesn’t show any conflicted files.
Krisos Posted May 9, 2019 Author Posted May 9, 2019 The weirdest thing happened. I sorta gave up on JCon, but still kept it. I installed Heart Breaker Mod. After installation I noticed it had the option of putting its own JCon version to my game. The first time I thought it was for compatibility, so I checked it. Then I found out it adds its own Jcon. Reinstalled Hearth Braker without the JCon. Reinstalled JCon. And now everything seems to work. I might have had this mod enable JCon earlier aswell, so it was really my bad. It doesnt show conflicts I know, maybe its because JCon doesn't have a plugin? Either way I put JCon to load after Sexlab using MO2. MO2 is very good.
Arthacs Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 In MO2 click on the "screwdriver" -> plugins -> BSA extractor and choose enable. -That way any BSA files will be extracted and u can see any conflicts in the left panel where mods are installed. (its in the "flags" column, red lightning symbol) -The mods is sorted from top to bottom, so the lowest ones overwrites the ones above. -You can arrange the installed mods anyway u want. Also use profiles (configure profiles tab) when installing new mods, so if u do anything wrong u can simply go back. -Use LOOT to sort your esps.
jaeos Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 @Krisos There is a very good beginners mod page pinned in the forum that i skipped when i first started playing. You don't need to get everything like enb or dyndolod if you are not comfortable doing much at the moment. But eventually you will start to get annoyed at the way X or Y looks. so you will go back and start adding in more and more textures trying to make it look better. I would start a modding profile in mo2 and put everything listed in the thread, you can make 100 profiles, they can each have seperate ini files, or they can share the same file. but whats active at any time is still up to you. if you have a cpu and gpu that can handle the 4k almost real life quality textures,, then go for it. most people are happy with the 2k textures, you won't see much in the way of difference depending on your screen. (if you have a big 36'' or 5k monitors then you will notice the difference between 2k and 4k, but if you are at a 24 or smaller screeen, you won't notice unless you stick your nose to the screen and look.) Theres a really good video on youtube on why most people don't need to run 1080p (hint he leaves a pixel artifact on screen the entire video)
