bewbs on ice

Recently I've found this mod, which makes stalhrim weapons transparent, like they're made of ice and so I wanted to do the same with the armor variations.

With a bit of help from the technical support forum I also achieved this, more or less.

Spoiler

The stalhrim material is transparent and shows the underlying body.

Though there's still a problem with the lower part (see screenshots 1 and 2), where the rendered texture below changes with the camera angle.

To deal with this I'd just cut away the trousers below, so there'd only be one texture to render, but this would kind of ruin the charm of having a full-body armor with faux nudity.

Any idea on how to deal with this?

You can't have 2 items with transparency on top of each other or the one underneath will become invisible.

really?

so transparent water become invisible because of transparent grass

190504062757123238.jpg

and transparant plant become invisible because of that transparent fire texture on that wolf

190504062818288194.jpg

and transparent black hair on gisli behind transparent blond hair, it's supposed to be invisible too

like elisif transparent brown hair behind the transparent black hair

and when you hit something with your sword, the transparent blood that appear, it make transparent hair invisible, and transparent grass invisible, and transparent whatever invisible

what about waterfalls that are performance hungry because the river you can see thought them is also transparent, the meshes are double side, and animated (because of that bigger fps impact to replace that with 4k, than replacing iron armor with 4k)

With these values for transparency the textures look often much better, with softer edges, but in some cases you can see some problems in game, like when two meshes with transparency overlap. If that is the case, you can try the values used by Bethesda in vanilla meshes:

  • Flags = 4844 (or 4846)
  • Threshold = 128

You can change the Threshold value to another number (higher or lower) until you are satisfied with the look of the transparency in game.

I guess this is my problem.

There are two transparent meshes overlapping: cuirass and skirt.

The skirt mesh is having the problem shown in the pictures in my first post.

Setting the Flags value to 4844 doesn't make difference, though.
