Issues with Mod Organizer 2

Hello everyone !

I wanted to play skyrim for a long time ago, so yesterday I opened Skyrim (SKSE) through MO2, it went fine until I get a CTD during Racemenu character creation.

When I wanted to re launch the game through MO2, I couldn't, it said that "failed to generate "skse_loader.exe" : failed to start process ( Incorrect Parameter. [87])". It does again now everytime I want to open Skyrim SKSE through MO2 EVERYTIME. It's the same with LOOT, I just can't run both programs. But before the CTD, it did work normally.

I can still lunch FNIS generator through MO2, but it doesn't recognize my mods and game's path correctly after the crash, and continue to do so.

I'm using Oldrim, without Hearthfire. Bodyslide works by the way through MO2. I can still launch default Skyrim launcher with MO2, but I don't want to, cause I need SKSE to run my mods.

I did some research about this issue, and apparently it should be gone with rebooting PC, but I did it many times now, and the issue is still here.

If someone kind enough could help me, it'll be great, thanks in advance. If you need more informations, I can give you those later.

Have a good day.

EDIT: even Skyrim and Skyrim Launcher don't run through executables list into MO2 in fact...

My best guess would be that permissions were reset, so you could try to set MO, skse etc to run as administrator and try if that works. Long shot, but i don't have a better idea either.

If that doesn't work, though, installing a second version of MO, and copying the folders should work, but to be entirely sure i'd only go with the download folder and reinstall everything from there.

Thanks for you reply. In fact it already runs as administrator mode, both MO2 and SKSE. The thing that I don't understand it's like I play normally, it crashes, and then suddenly it's messed up. Ok thanks for the suggestion about reinstalling, do you think I just can copy paste all of the content of MO2 into another copy, cause I don't want to reinstall all my stuff...

As i said, to be on the save side you should reinstall everything from scratch, although just copying everything would probably be worth a try. But it's also possible to copy whatever error is in there.

Another thought would be to start Skyrim via it's launcher without MO. My guess is that either the game or Windows or maybe a graphics driver or anything recognized that crash and changed some settings to a "save" mode or something like that - didn't see that for Skyrim so far, but i know it happens for other games and maybe your original crash was kinda special. So go to the launcher, check settings, start the game, then quit and try if that fixed it might also be worth a shot.

Ok thanks a lot for your tips. I will give it a try.

EDIT: I tried to launch Skyrim via steam, it worked, but I still get the same issue with MO2 after that.

Well, honestly i've never seen this kind of error, i'm really rather guessing what could be wrong. Maybe Skyrims files got somehow damaged, you could try to restore the files via Steam.

My experience in PC support tells me that "i didn't do anything" is usually just wrong, but if it's true i'm at a loss.

Ok I fixed it : a file was identified as dangerous into my antivirus, and it deleted it, so one of the main file of MO2 was missing. Now it is back to normal, thanks again for your advices man !
