Sims continuing to move after action is cancelled!

So I don't know if this is a mod issue or a base-game problem or what. I'm just hoping that someone else has experienced the same thing and can tell me how to fix it. ^^;

In my game, I often cancel an autonomous action in order to have my sim do something more important. For example, They decide to take a nap on the park bench outside, and I will cancel that to send them to the bathroom. Quite often this works exactly as expected: I hit the "Nap" button in the queue to cancel it, and then click the "Use" option on the toilet to send them there. Perfectly normal.

However, sometimes it doesn't work that way. Sometimes I will hit the button to cancel it, and then hit the toilet to send them there. But instead of walking to the toilet that's only a few feet away from them, they will continue to walk down 3 floors down, walk outside, cross the street to the bench, and only then stop and begin walking back up to the toilet. This doesn't just happen with benches and toilets, of course. It has happened with all kinds of interactions, and oh god is it ever frustrating. I recall one incident in particular where I wanted my sim to shower, and they proceeded to spend over three in-game hours waffling between the shower and a barbecue on the other side of the house before they finally got in.

I guess this is some kind of routing issue, but I'm not an expert on this stuff. I'm hoping that someone knows of a handy little mod out there that can stop this from happening, though. It's a source of enormous frustration for me when I'm playing. x.x

Well, that's disappointing. ?

Thanks for the reply, though!

Get it a lot with sims chatting to one another....tell them to do something like watch tv and they stand there chatting for ages and you can't cancel.....it's the game i'm afraid :(

The absolute worst is when something that should only take a few seconds -- like having a drink -- ends up taking hours to finish because they won't just shut up and drink. ;_;
