Mookeylama Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 i'm adding a few things to the ship that you arrive on in the quest Rise of the East. the "war" ship that takes you and Adelaise to Japhet's Folly. it's VERY plain so i'm adding some clutter and some cannons from a resource. but i see the ship and soldier npcs have an enabled parent ref attached. i know nothing about these but i'm guessing that the ship, soldiers ect, don't exist in the game until u start the quest and then that reference enables them into the game. should i add that parent to the items misc items i'm adding? will the ref even work on my items or is it specific to just the vanilla things? thanks
Seijin8 Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Enable parents is something that gets enabled by script and then everything "comes to life". Without the parent, it doesn't exist at all and can't be enabled by itself. There isn't anything stopping you from adding the enable parent to your own refs, but depending on the behavior of the quest items after the quest that initiates them, it may break everything. You might be better off recreating anything with that enable parent, and then making sure they don't coexist through some conditional that checks for the quest that creates them.

Mookeylama Posted April 3, 2019 Author Posted April 3, 2019 so just add that same enabled parent to my additions, and they'll work like the vanilla ones? ok thanks
