My game just has random CTDs

I'm not sure What is going on, but now my skyrim has a lot of random CTDs, for example when placing medesi's ring on brand shei i have a crash, or on the way through the ragged flagon. Literally even moving around in skyrim and i just crash. Can someone help?

No but seriously, you should but the load order in spoilers, so people don't have to scroll so far down.

 

And for random CTD there are probably several thousand threads with this problem. So you are best to read one of the guides on fixing Skyrims crashing

 

If you don't want to do that and just want to get straight to the issue, well here is what I would say:

 

It will most likely be a mod conflict, so you need to discover which esp is causing the issue and just remove that mod. 

 

So follow this process:

 

1 Disable all esp except the core vanilla, dlcs and unnoficial patches

2 Make a new save game (you can use alternate start) and save and exit

3 enable half of the esps and then load the game and test for 30 mins

4 If it crashed you know that the esp is one of that half, so disable half of those esp and test again

5 If it didn't crash then try the other half

6 Keep going, splitting the esps in half after each test until you find the one causing it then uninstall that mod

 

If you don't want to uninstall that mod you will have to do other techniques but for that you will need to read those guides which are out there, to learn about mod cleaning and bash patches and stability fixes

No it will not. It will most probably be a memory issue.

 

If your game used to run okay but now crashes then the question is: what has changed? If it always crashes when planting the ring on Brand Shei then look to mods which alter or affect him and that quest.

 

How many esps have you there.

 

You have lots of mods adding lots of content to your game.

 

You have several instances of mods doing the same thing.

 

What ENB are you using that it requires all those weather and lighting mods?
