Cyclops08 Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 I saw the pinned message at the top...and I have NO idea how to get a copy of Papyrus from Vortex. That said, I reinstalled Sexlab and Defeat...and the animations are either standing next to each other or merged into one deformed toon that doesn't move. The trauma... Everything worked before on my NMM playform.... 1) what am I doing wrong? 2) haw can I help you help me?
Guest Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 They're in AppData/Roaming/Vortex for Win 7. for Win 10: Press the windows key + R. Type in "%appdata%" and hit enter. As for animation mods that doesn't work like SL and Defeat, run FNIS from Vortex, not from desktop. See the maunal how to install and run FNIS from Vortex. Cyclops08 Posted March 4, 2019 Author Posted March 4, 2019 Vortex runs finis whenever I hit the deploy button. Its almost automatic. I ran deploy, the last thing it did was run finis, and no change.

In this case the best solution is to send the report log to Vortex team. Read this page how to do it. https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Troubleshooting:_How_to_send_in_your_Vortex_log_file I, personally would recommend to "Import" mods from Nexus (NMM) instead of installing them directly from the source page. But, first, MAKE A BACK UP OF YOUR MODS FOLDER.

Been using Vortex for about a year, now, so unless they dropped a new version very recently, I can confirm that Vortex does NOT run FNIS automatically; it runs LOOT automatically on deploy to sort your plugins, but it doesn't run FNIS (nor does it run BodySlide batch build, for example). You have to run it specifically and deliberately. Launch FNIS from the Vortex Dashboard, run it to load all your installed animations, then to be extra safe, go back to Vortex's Mods tab and Deploy again; FNIS will change some files, and you'll want to Apply those changes permanently. If you don't deploy after running FNIS, it should still run fine, you'll just get a prompt about applying those updated file changes after you exit Skyrim and return to Vortex. EDIT: Ha. Just went and checked the Vortex beta download page, see new version released like, 3 days ago. So, then, I can confirm that as of FOUR DAYS AGO, Vortex doesn't automatically run FNIS. Will upgrade Vortex tomorrow, but I highly doubt they've built FNIS into it. I've been wrong before, but not often, but in fairness I can't say with absolute certainty that this behavior still holds true in this most recent version.

( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxgOHj5gdpM Excuse me but AppData/Roaming/Vortex have ONLY the log from Vortex excution, the profiles and some program data. NOT HAVE THE PAPYRUS LOGS. Because the PAPYRUS LOGS are located ALWAYS in Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Logs\Script and not matter WHAT manager are you ussing. Of course, you musy activate log in the [Papyrus] section of the Skyrim.ini for get a log. Vortex use the same HardLink System used in the last versions of NMM and FOR THAT the result of run Fnis from INSIDE Vortex, ussing the Dashboard, or run Fnis from OUTSIDE Vortex, ussing the DESKTOP link, IS EXACTLY THE SAME. Thanks to the HardLink System. The only REAL diference from NMM to Vortex is that you must wait for the Deploy.

FALSE... i not know what version are you ussing but my Vortex 0.16.15 run Fnis automatically as say the wiki. https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Tool_Setup:_FNIS Spoiler

Never noticed that option was added. Honestly, was surprised when I checked the version and changelog; I was on 16.2, just installed and kicking off new game with 17.5, today. I had actually missed SEVERAL updates, simply because it was working fine, and no reason to go looking for updates or fixes. So, I have no idea how long it's been since they added the option to automatically run FNIS on deploy. That said, have you enabled the FNIS auto-run option as described on the wiki page you linked (it's off by default), and have you enabled the FNIS Data "mod" on the Mods tab? Stupid simple things, but worth ruling out before trying to chase something deeper. It's also worth running FNIS manually to actually SEE the output and feedback; there might be something going wrong that isn't being reported back through Vortex. Worth a look, if only to rule it out. We're coming at it this way because what you're describing has every hallmark of the game being unable to find the animation. It should go without saying, too, that you'd want to make sure you've enabled/registered the animations themselves in-game through the various MCM menus (SexLab, ZAP, SLAL, EC+, etc.). Again, simple stupid stuff, but especially if you haven't been making use of separate Profiles in a mod manager, before (and Vortex does it differently than NMM and MO each did, anyway), it's easy to overlook the basic setup stuff. Because still and all, I've been using Vortex to manage my Skyrim mods for a year, now, without the trouble you're describing. It screams of animations not having been loaded and/or registered. Beyond that, I've had similar behavior intermittently when running with a heavy script load, especially on saves corrupted by changing mods in and out during a playthrough; other avenues to investigate, but first I'd go through checking that you're setting up the animations correctly and completely. Miss something simple at the start, and you can lose hours trying to chase a non-existent complicated cause.

First, I suggested to run FNIS from Vortex since some people said it doesn't work for them. Also I regularly checking Github about problem and solutions and the things I suggest sometimes are from there. Anyway, THANK YOU for much better provided assistance then mine.

Just checking if it actually built any modded animations, or reasoning on how/why it would work. Desktop link should only ever work if you have mods installed for NMM (and you forgot to remove them from \Skyrim\data\ ). You must run .exe tools from the launcher you are using, if it's Vortex or MO/MO2. These launchers use virtual file system, and you cannot have NMM mods installed at the same time. It will conflict.

Vortex NOT have a Virtual File System like MO or MO2. Vortex use the same HardLink System used in the last version of NMM and that mean you can make a lot of things with Vortex in the same way you make it with NMM, for example, run Fnis from the desktop link in the same way a lot of users make it every day with NMM. Is not OBLIGATORY run Fnis from the Dashboard. I personally NOT like the Fnis Integration because NOT show the Fnis window and i can NOT see the errors in Fnis and i can NOT know how many animations i have. I run Fnis in the OLD way, from the desktop link. When you use NMM or Vortex you have DIRECT access to ALL yours enabled and DEPLOYED mod and you can access it with any tool like Fnis, Bodyslide, OutfitStudio, NifScope, CK, Notepad++ and you NOT need add all this programs to the Dashboard and you NOT need launch all this programs from the Dashboard.
