winner0123456789 Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 So as we know vanilla Skyrim women look rather unsightly. So I decided to download some mods to make them look better but shit hit the fan real quick. The heads are different colors form the body, some faces are still vanilla, and some....well may god have mercy on them. So i thought maybe this had to do with the load order.... or conflicting mods so i thought id be a quick fix .... but i don't know what the fuck i'm doing. So if anybody can just look at my load order and tell me what mods might be causing the women of Skyrim to look like villains from a Stephen king novel, it would be much.....MUCH appreciated. And if you have the time and the will to look for any other problems i could fix that would be amazing. RedMonika Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 First of all... you're cute... I got a kick from your intro... Okay... first of all have you used LOOT? https://loot.github.io/ Next... what mod manager are you using? I encourage you to try Mod Organzier https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6194 Mismatch color sounds like a texture issue. Make sure you install those properly. It looks like your mods are installed all over the place. Best to use Loot. That's really the first thing - as I did - anyone will ask.

If it's properly setup it creates a virtual environment separate from your game folders, which is nice the more you play the game you'll appreciate this. It also identifies mod conflicts and gives you the power to choose what mods have higher priority. I started playing with NMM - Nexus' original mod manager and wish I started off with MO. The creator of MO is now with Nexus and created Vortex but MO2 is still supported and viable and in my opinion easier than Vortex to use.
RedMonika Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 You should just be able to install LOOT. It should automatically detect your game folders and that's it Spoiler
RomeoZero Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 I have same issues with head tints, who knew that when you export custom heads via alt+f4 the existed texture folder "character assets" in your game data needs to be renamed, so it would not conflict with export process. So one would not guess in tons of files off Skyrim.esm texture folder what to look for or ask people for unknown info, CK has a good process called "create BSA archive" when creating mods.Modders tend to ignore it.

There's a great write-up on reddit for people who are new to modding Skyrim on PC. It's a guide to help people new to modding Skyrim get started and understand what they're doing. Even if you find it too tedious to do all the steps, you should at least read through it to understand how it works and why it is done. Reddit Beginner's Guide
