What is the difference between these two mods

im wondering what the difference for these mod since it basically the

 

same author.

ECE is a resource for modders it also has

while pretty face is a mod that can use ECE and

so then i can use both when installed or does one overwritte the other?

I can see why the two mods can be confusing if you don't know what the included files do. I don't think you should use both at the same time because they overlap assets and each mod does different things.

 

Pretty Face will change the femaleheadraces.tri, some meshes, and textures for human faces, so it's basically a simple NPC face replacer. It won't affect your player character creation as much as ECE.

 

ECE changes player character customization by providing new .tri morphs for the head, eyes, nose, and mouth. Things of note are the jaw forward slider affecting nose width, the eye depth slider affecting eye rotation, etc. Basically, ECE is a player character creation overhaul. The new .tris make some unpleasant changes to vanilla NPCs, though.

I'm using both mods.

I've installed first the Enhanced Character Edit, and Pretty Face after that, overwriting all files that prompted.
