Want to learn more about Sithis

I'm always trying to come up with new angles for roleplaying and imagining stories for my characters to carry out in their adventures.  This often has me make up villains through other characters.  Daedric Lords as villains is an easy thing but right now I'm thinking of trying something a bit different.

I'm trying to learn more about Sithis.  Don't see much involving him.  Read some lore articles but what I most want to know is if there are any instances of Sithis posing a threat to the whole world?  Like would he set in motion a chain of events that would lead to the world's destruction?  Would Sithis want something like that or is that just not his style?

Destroying the world is totally his style. Sithis is basically the embodiment of nothingness, so his main goal is the destruction of Nirn and all life on it for good. No more time, no more Kalper cycles, no more life, just the Void. I can't fully explain what Sithis is in a short post, but he's less of a being and more of a fundamental force of nature. If you want to learn more about him, I would suggest looking into the story of creation for Nirn. I'm not going to provide outside links (because I personally am hesitant to click on those) but the YouTube channel Hello Future Me has a wonderful video on the Dawn Era and FudgeMuppet has a video specifically on Sithis.

Happy hunting!

I would go more along the line of Sithis is chaos so has the potential for all things. As it has no form it is effectively nothingness (the void) but it is not stasis which it can be argued is the extreme of too much form (e.g. structure without energy). The Law and Chaos balance principle crops up in many cultures in one form or another. Neither (IMV) are inherently good or evil, they just are, in the same sense that a thunderstorm is not good or evil but just a force of nature.

Hmm.  I was thinking of crafting a villain character who was an unknowing agent of Sithis.  Picture a person who, at some point in the future, has the potential to do something that would not only shatter Mundus but threaten the different plains of Oblivion as well.  Sithis has the opportunity to push the first proverbial domino to start the person down that path.  He doesn't need to take an active role beyond that.  Just needs to sit back and let it happen.

Since this plan also threatens Oblivion, could the Daedric Lords themselves possibly step up to assist a hero character in some way to stop it?  Doesn't have to be direct influence but could be like Sithis.  Sithis spurred one person to end the world and the Daedra spur into motion another person to stop it.  The Daedra are agents of change but I would think that any change that somehow endangers themselves is one they would oppose.

This all seems quite feasible to me. I think a mage in particular (perhaps a Conjuration specialist?) would be the most likely to be able to threaten nearly all of creation. Come to think of it, the Thalmor kind of have a plan like this already. I imagine both the Daedric Lords and the Aedra would certainly try to step in as well if they knewabout what was going on. You're certainly on an interesting track here!

Yeah I am inspired somewhat by the in-game book about a Conjuration mage who traveled the plains of Oblivion.  Maybe a mage could attempt something similar, hoping to travel to a particular plane, but instead end up in the Void.  Could be accidental and Sithis seized the opportunity or he deliberately sabotaged the mage's spell and pulled them into the void.  Once there the mage is corrupted and/or driven insane and subsequently sent back/allowed to return to Tamriel where their madness drives them towards the new doomsday plot.

Next thing I need to decide on is which Daedra might respond, which might ignore and which might actually help Sithis.  The one I'm most concerned about is Mephala.  She is the one Daedra most closely connected to Sithis with her supposed ties to the Dark Brotherhood and the Night Mother.  Would she try to stop the doomsday plot?  I could argue yes because despite her ties to Sithis, she doesn't want to perish.  Plus she loves to interfere with the affairs of mortals and if this plan succeeds there will be no mortals to interfere with...

one thing is but extraordinarily, throughout Skyrim there is no statue, only a window picture!

Yeah I've found those pics when browsing online.  He is terrifying!  But difficult to make him appear in my game so he'll just act through an agent in my story.
