VirusWar Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Can someone recommend any games (RTS, turn base, 4x, etc) that have a certain domination mechanic. Exactly what Stellaris has with its "Vassal/Protectorate/Subsidiary" system. To force another empire to receive benefits from them, technically making them a slave. It doesn't have to be exactly like this, but some way of a "Domination victory" without actually slaughtering everyone. I've looked through a lot of games, but without actually playing them I cant say for sure what they have to offer in this field, that's why I ask here. I like sci-fi games, so I liked Civilization BE, which had a simple yet effective trading system, which could be renewed and if you're strong enough, you could even demand resources, without giving anything in return. If anyone has any games to recommend, please do, I'm open to any games, no matter the age of the game setting or its release date. Thank you.
Nazzzgul666 Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Civ IV had this, dunno about newer versions.
Zhukov Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 The old and glorious Alpha Centauri has something similar too. You can spare a faction and they stay in game as a vassal faction for the rest of the game.
KoolHndLuke Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 If your going the Civ 4 route, then you should love Realism Invictus. It greatly expands on the original game and adds so much it is impossible to list it all.
