vespulan Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Hi ho silver, After a long time absent I decided to dive back in to Skyrim - around this time last year I came across a 'pinching' issue with my clothes and had a few recommendations but nothing seemed to fix it. I've attached some screenshots of the issue (in game being the issue, bodyslide being what the clothing should look like) - any help would be greatly appreciated. TheMadCatter Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 If I were to guess I'd say that since it appears fine in T-pose but not fine in game it's that whatever bone that the specific section of the loincloth is parented to is incorrect, so it could be an issue inherent to the model.

The issue occurs with every piece of clothing even after a clean install ::// All I can think of is that there is a temporary file somewhere or something that isn't being removed during the uninstall that is causing the bones at the crotch to get attached to all clothing

You could try deleting that folder then doing a clean reinstall.

You're using BodySlide, but... - Is your stuff HDT? - Are you using XPSME? - Are you using SOS and if so, did you install it after installing XPSME, possibly overwriting the XPSME skeleton nif?
koboshimeowtis Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 I've been having the same issue for quite a while. I've also done clean install, even nuked everything that was part of skyrim down to the my games folders and even wiped Steam and the entire drive steam/skyrim was on. I've tried with and without XPSME, bodyslide, cbbe, physics and pretty much every combination I could think of. It warps the crotch of just about everything I put on the character. It's most noticeable to me with a few of the bikini armors that have a short hanging part over the crotch. So...I also would like some help.
vespulan Posted February 17, 2019 Author Posted February 17, 2019 Bump, I've still managed to find no solution to this problem and I'm wondering if a bodyslide file somewhere isn't being removed so some bones or something are being played around with. Not sure if any of that makes sense but I've been pulling my hair out over this and that is the one thing I can think of. As always, any help is greatly appreciated. Vespulan

Vespulan Perhaps if you responded by using the "quote" button, maybe I can help you. If you don't want to respond, then don't post.

Just forum courtesy that seems to have slipped past you. Not entirely sure what you would want me to quote anyway, but for the record I have tried all the above suggested solutions and none of them worked. Following yet another complete uninstall the problem remains, even to the point where vanilla clothes seem to 'pinch' but that's difficult to confirm because none of them are as skimpy/I don't have much to compare them to. Once again any help appreciated. Vespulan
Guest Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 idk why this hasn't been properly answered yet since its extremely common. It's not a mod collision or leftover files, etc., it's just the weighting of vertices. Automatically generated weighting done by BodySlide based on the references it uses. It's why CBBE/UUNP conversions often suffer the same problem (like this mod). afaik, it's a problem the creator for the conversion files has left in there rather than BS itself. Visualising and weighting skirts is difficult and often people either don't know how or are too lazy. In your example, it looks like the vertices on the skirt in the middle of the crotch were weighted to the thighs fully. This results in the stretching you see in the game but not in the t-pose because bad weighting is always dormant until the character leaves the t-pose lol. The only way to remove it would be to go into every affected file and edit the weight painting yourself which would require a lot more effort than it's worth. Otherwise you can edit the outfit you like the most for yourself but even then, it won't be easy if you've never done it before. It's not a problem you'll be fixing anytime soon so sorry to say this but you'll have to get comfortable lol.

Thanks for the clarity, you're right in that I probably won't go in to every outfit but why does this only happen with my version of this clothing? When I look in the mod makers screenshots it doesn't look like this. I had a very clear example in another clothing mod where a plate skirt was basically coning right in to the groin, and after going back it looks like it is doing the same from the rear (almost as if they are trying to meet in the middle, underneath the gooch). Thanks again, it doesn't make the game unplayable it is just a bit immersion breaking because I see it on NPCs that should be all sexy. Vespulan
Guest Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Well below are five pics straight from the user submitted pictures on The Book of UUNP which seem to suffer from the same problem. All UUNP and CBBE BS conversions are made from a CBBE-shaped reference so it could just be some by-product of having a different bodytype to the reference (like using a thinner body or something larger). If the problem really is different, some more pictures might be more useful because it honestly just looks like a weighting issue to me. From what I can work with it looks like heavy weighting to the pelvis bone for the "coning right in to the groin" and heavy weighting to the thigh bones for the stretching. The only other thing I could think of would be something to do with weighting to vagina bones and not having the right skeleton or something wild like that but I'm sure the game would probably just crash when equipped given the chance. Again, some other examples in pictures would help a lot.
vespulan Posted February 25, 2019 Author Posted February 25, 2019 Sorry for the late reply, I've been away from my computer for the last few days. I was fiddling around again today and noticed that this problem seems to occur in bodyslide if I pump the weight up. As per request I took more pictures - note the 'cone' increases at 100 weight. Thanks for the continued help, Vespulan Spoiler
