Having an issue with Mod Manager 2 and FNIS

Good evening/day to whoever may read this.

I have recently acquired Mod Organizer 2 after completely uninstalling Skyrim and my mods.

It is obviously an entirely new platform, but after going through the tutorials it seems very nice, except one issue.

I was trying to run FNIS for users to register my animations, but I wasn't able to get it to work properly. I went to the "Data" tab on the right, and then went to the tools where it should be located, but all I see is two folders without names, just ellipses like "..." When I open these folders, I see more folders like those as well as many files belonging to FNIS that all have the same name. Upon activating each and every one of them, I found the executable for the run FNIS for users.

After all this, I hit "Run FNIS" from the tools drop-down menu, and everything seemed like it was working, as it said it was successful, but it never launched the utility.

I'm very confused, because I know it isn't supposed to look like that in the data folder, and I am pretty sure it is supposed to launch from the tools menu.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid topic to post about, but I've been spending a lot of time trying to get it to work, but I still have nothing.

Any feedback will be appreciated, thank you.

You need to have Fnis active in your left window. It will not start or work.

It was checked and enabled as well, I don't think that was the issue.

If FNIS is installed via MO2 you need to do it in reverse. If FNIS is pointed

The ellipses box is where you need to point MO2 >to< so it can find the actual FNIS install whether that's your data folder or not.

The tools menu is for listing the tools in your install, the FNIS executable should be in your main executable list, after you've pointed to it in the tools menu.

FNIS also needs to have admin/write permission to write to where your anim output is going to end up

Should I install it with MO2 or do it manually?

How do I point to it in the tools menu? I've tried setting the one file that launches it as an executable, but even once I set it up and launch it, it tells me I have a bad installation and need to launch it from my mod manager's list of supported tools.

I don't know why I'm so confused or why this is giving me such a difficult time.

Thank you again.

EDIT: By the way, I've been looking at videos and tutorials as well, so I promise that I'm trying too! I'm just not very bright I guess.

This is what it looks like in the data tab in MO2. I doubt it helps, because I'm sure you already knew, but I figured I might as well. In the video I saw, it was just downloaded and everything in the tools folder looked as it should, showing the proper executables and everything else.

MO2 should support it just fine within its own framework.

I recommend watching this series before going further.

Then I shall watch this series and hopefully become enlightened. If that can't help me, I'm sure I'm probably just wasting your time, haha! I appreciate this, or at least pointing me in the right direction.
