It's like being trapped in a blizzard!

Hola everyone, 

 

I've just reinstalled FO4 after a long time away, and this will be my first time modding it. Unfortunately when I start a new game, the opening cinematic plays fine and then I get the standard white screen and bathroom sounds, and right when Nate should wipe off the mirror...Nate doesn't wipe off the mirror. It just hangs, all white forever.

 

Since I just did the downloads and install over the past couple days, I have the latest versions of everything, including F4SE.

 

Here's my load order -- of note, I have uninstalled and deleted Scrap Everything -- Core from my computer, but LOOT still shows it, albeit in an unactivated state.

ETA: It worked fine when I ran it without mods or SE, so it's obviously something having to do with those.

It's probably one or more of your mods causing it. The best way to find out is to turn off 5 mods and then try the game if it still hangs/freezes close game and turn 5 more off and try again. Repeat this process till you are able to start it without it hanging/freezing at that spot. Once that happens go back out and turn on 1 of the mods in the last 5 you turned off and try game continue turning one on at a time till it freezes then you'll know the culprit and can get rid of it or find out if it needs to be updated or something. Make sure when you turn a mod off that you also turn it's masters off as well to prevent CTD.

I know this is late, but I want to include my experience. I had this problem and it turned out to be a prompt occurring during that little cinematic type scene. I could make it move forward by hitting enter once or twice. If you listen you might hear the quest sounds at the beginning and then the click of accepting when you hit enter.
