I should have the discs and as well as the translation patch here somewhere. But the size of the disc alone just makes me go no.

It's an ISO image. So, (1) unzip and then (2) use a program like VirtualCloneDrive to mount the image. Then (3) run the English installer and it will detect the mounted image and install. :)

Hello..

am, i downloaded the game from another site,

and when i tried to install the game that gave me that:

So i wanted to ask if someone have a idea what to do..

and if not, i can be sure that those Downloads will not give me that too?

Did you use either AppLocale or set your computer to output Japanese? If not, the setup cannot install the movies as they are under Japanese symbols and need to be for the engine to run.

Best way to install it is by English patch. You have to iso image mounted and patch will recognize it and install game in English.

I have to say, I found this thread just browsing the boards when I was bored. I decided to download the game files and patch to see what it was all about... Once installed, I found I lost 2 days time to the game already! This game is great. It's like risk mixed with an old school final fantasy and topped off with a hilarious ecchi-anime story!

 

Now the biggest question is, once I beat this game does anyone know of other game very much like this one?

Yes, it is very good game but due it sexual content not so well known. Something similar in gameplay and with English patch:

"Daibanchou Big Bang Age"

 

I only wish there was such game with female protagonist as player :P

Rance In female form was so cute :3

Check out all the games by the company that made Sengoku Rance, Alicesoft on vndb. They've made many incredible games (and many are part of the Rance series).

 

Off the top of my head, you can try Daibanchou -Big Bang Age- (it has been translated) or other games in the Rance series (not all of them are like Sengoku Rance though, some are more like rpg games, best do some reading first). There's a group working on translating all of the Rance games, just do a google search for it and they should show up. Afaik, Rance 1, 2 and Sengoku Rance have been translated and Rance 3 and Rance Quest (the newest one) are currently been translated. Might want to check out Daiteikoku too, which is a newer game (2010) and is currently being translated on TLwiki. Also, I highly advise you to finish all the other routes and achievements in Sengoku Rance. The game has a ton of replay value, and I played through it around 9 times before finally getting sick of it. There is so much hidden stuff to do, and there are also multiple different versions of the storyline that you can play and will result in various endings. If you're having trouble getting them all, you could always just read the Alicesoft wiki. Anyways...I hope that provides you with enough timesinks for now :P.

I'm getting a file is broken error from 7zip... I selected all 4 parts and unzipped like I've done for any other rar broken up like this....

 

maybe redownload? :\

I used winrar to extract them and everything went fine. is 7zip giving a message of which part is broken and causing the error? If it is then just redownload that part and try to extract it again.

AliceSoft Work is very good. A lot of hentai games are only question of clicking speed to get the CG (I can not read japanese :(). With the translation available, the game become a very immersive and chalenging one, with the ero part as a bonus. There is something to play. I was very surprised of the quality of the game mechanism (are there really ERO games were you can loose ?)

 

Eushylly makes also good tactical ERO RPG games, wich are worth playing, Like Princess hunting Dungeon Master, but I didn't found any translation for his one.

I would prefer Rance VI. It's a dungeon crawler RPG with hentai elements(like game over rape) but it's in Japanese. I heard it was going to be translated to English. Anyone who knows anything about that?

These guys are aiming to translate all the Rance games. They haven't started VI yet but I & II 2010 version are done and they're currently working on Rance Quest and III I believe. There's also a group doing Kichikuo Rance but afaik that project is kinda dead-ish.

Many thanks for the link :D. Last time I looked for something equivalent was 2 years ago and I lost track of the team.

 

Edit : I do not know if it was posted earlier' date=' but for retrogamers (and hope of translations), Alice Soft has set as freeware their earlier games including Rance adventures http://retropc.net/alice/menu.html

hey guys, I need help

 

so I got applocale installed on vista and downloaded the game and have the image on daemon tools. just now to install the game, its still all japanese. how do I use applocale to change it to english, even though the file itself is still an ISO file?

 

sorry have never used applocale before, so kinda confused
