sims4atf Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Hello. I wish to create see-through bottoms for Sims 3. Please help. Thank you.
JoshQ Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Here’s a tutorial about how to add the transparent effect to a garment.
sims4atf Posted December 5, 2018 Author Posted December 5, 2018 Quote http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=447671 This is an overview for modders familiar with working with textures and meshes - it's not a good place for beginners to start . I am a complete beginner so how should i proceed ? A step-by-step approach would be most appropriate in this case....

A step-by-step approach would be most appropriate in this case.... I’m not aware of a step-by-step tutorial that covers 'everything' but surely you can go to tumblr and find several, also you can find lots of info on modthesims. There’s one that covers the very basics on my signature, the rest is practicing and having a lot of patience. If you require further assistance send me a message
sims4atf Posted December 6, 2018 Author Posted December 6, 2018 Thank you so much for your kind guidance.
Dailycard Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 I found this program to be a great help http://www.modthesims.info/d/372169/small-editors-vpxy-bonedelta-facialblend-blendunit-casslidertemplate-geom-mtnf-new-may-2010-rslt-editor.html load your geom file in to it change the shader type to CasSimHairSimple save and place the geom back into the package and test it but you will have to make png or dds transparent to start with a quick example
Nonsequitur Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Simple method to make clothing Transparent What you need to have: · GIMP 2.8 or better and a little understanding on how to use the program. · DDS Plug-in for GIMP · TSRW This very short tutorial assumes you have some basic understanding of GIMP and TSRW. Try this little experiment: · Open TSRW and select the “af TopBra_BikiniTie” from the Young Adult Female Swimwear section. · Give the Project and Title a unique name for this experiment – something you can easily identify. · When it has finished loading – go to the Textures Tab -> Multiplier -> [EDIT]. EXPORT this giving it a unique name with “Multiplier” in its name. · Exit out of the multiplier edit box and save the project Exit TSRW Find your freshly saved multiplier and load it into GIMP. · In the LAYERS tab – delete ALL MipMaps. You will be left with only one layer (Main). · Zoom in and select all areas you want of make more transparent. · Chose COLORS ->Curves-> in the CHANNELS box select ALPHA · Move the Dot/Line to somewhere around the 2nd horizontal line from the bottom on the right side of the graph box. Any lower and you may have it too transparent. You need to play around with this setting point. · Click OK – save the file. · With only the one layer in the LAYERS tab – chose LAYER at top menu and select “Layer to Image Size” · Go to FILE -> Export AS -> give it a unique name with “Multiplier” in it… save as DDS (format as BC3/DXT5, check the MipMaps box) Your edit will show like this with the setting above" Exit GIMP Load TSRW and load your Bikini top project. · Go to the Textures Tab -> Multiplier -> [EDIT]. · IMPORT the Multiplier you just saved from GIMP. OK. It will ask if you want to replace. If you say no it will create a new image without deleting the old. If you say OK it will replace all of them (or should). So, just OK it – you should see the results of your edit immediately. · Save your TSRW Project and export to Sims3pack. · Of course you need to unpack that sims3pack to use as a package file in your Mods folder. There are a lot of clothing objects you will find just don’t take kindly to becoming transparent. If you notice really bad distortions at the breast or crotch of an item you’re working on – you will need to use CmarNYC_1346670_MeshToolKit found at MTS. Any problems or questions?... Good – have fun!
