A True Adult Game

What this world lacks is a true ADULT RPG. 

Sure we can mod the hell outta Skyrim and get the results we want but that’s certainly not Plug-N-Play ready gaming. And it’s not without its faults, like animation alignments and just bugs in general.

What we need is a team of people working on a fully mature RPG. Sure, it won’t make billions but with enough support on Patreon and GoFundMe, it could atleast get paid for and made. And the best part is, it would be an absolutely free game download. Now whether that’s for Patreons only or not, that’ll have to be decided later with the team.

 

Now Im no expert coder or animator even though I do a tiny bit of both, but what I am, is a man with all the free time in the world, great ideas, and incredible drive. I can make this happen. If I have to create the game alone from scratch and have it take me 15 years, then so be it. But what I hope for with this post is to find other talented people to join me on this adventure. We’ll create a funding page, promotional material, weekly updates and work in our free time to make this game a reality.

Voice Actors, programmers, script writers, animators, 3D artists, concept artists, storyboard artists, writers, I’m looking for everyone.

The idea is a deep RPG with engrossing storyline mixed with real adult interactions. Choice based narrative with multiple endings. We could go fantasy, we could go Sci Fi, we could go modern realism. This was tried and it , it fizzled out within a few months. 

Granted there was no funding etc, 

 

But what your asking requires a lot of work.

Problem I see in the industry is that they automatically assume that "Adult = Porn."  Now just bear with me a minute.  You bascially see either two kinds of games out there today:  Ones that have absolutely no sex in them at all, or games that are just an excuse for virtual porn with little to zero other content.

 

What we need is more of the one exception, and by that I mean The Witcher series.  Here we have a complete game.  Good story writing, good plots, lots of lore, and a fully finished world with plenty of interesting combat & game systems to keep people entertained.  Oh, and it has sex scenes.  Because sex is just part of life and any good writer knows that it can add a lot to a story.  That game gets it right.  It's not a game world devoid of sex and neither is just a glorified sex simulator.  It's a good game... with sex in it.  Wow, what a concept!

 

Problem, IMHO, is that too much of the gaming industry is stuck in the USA, which still suffers badly from 15th century puritanical bullshit and has this absurd standard where you can chop someone in half and get a PG rating but show one nipple and it's straight to R.  Move the gaming industry over to, I dunno, someplace in Europe (CD Project Red is based in Poland) where they actually have mature attitudes about mature topics and maybe we'll see more mature games that are actually, y'know, mature.

Yeah there was a pretty big thread about this exact kind of thing earlier this year.  A bunch of the content creators from around the site were kicking around the idea of coming together to work on a proper game/framework for making a game of their own that would offer built in support for a wide range of stuff including adult content and they wanted to gauge what the community would like to see in terms of features in that kind of thing.  Thread was eventually taken down.  I assume because it was a mess of people like me suggesting very nonspecific and ultimately unhelpful stuff that boiled down to "make a video game", and people not like me suggesting extremely specific stuff like an entire bethesda style RPG but where 70% of the core mechanics revolve entirely around... I don't know, let's say for the sake of this post it was farting into seashells.

 

Bottom line is the thread was removed, and when a new one asking where it went was made the reply was to the effect of "the old thread simply wasn't working, a new one will be made if and when something to actually show comes of the project".  That was several months ago and I at least have heard nothing more about it.  I assume the idea was either dropped for logistical reasons or whoever's working on it is simply chipping away at it when they have the time.

 

My suggestion is look into what ever happened with the local project.  If it's still quietly chugging along, see if they require more people and do what you can.  If it's not, find out why.  Pinpoint the major hurdles with something like this, they might not be what you expect.  If you can solve them, awesome, make a game.  If you can't, then... well I guess just do what you can do.

Isn't this just seriously TW3, Mass Effect, GTA, and Conan Exiles. Hundreds of by your description a "true adult game" unless you just wanna have sex with anything that moves then you're just being a hypocrite since thats basically a porn game.

I'm being a hypocrit? You're one of those people that come online to find arguments huh? Well I'm not your huckleberry.

As far as GTA, Conan Exiles, Mass Effect, and even The Witcher 3, no, that's not what I'm talking about. But that doesn't mean fuck anything that walks either. Interesting that your definition of sex is only a) PG rated sex scenes, or b) Fuck everything...

First of all, GTA only has "A sex scene" in which you take no part in. Conan Exiles has ZERO sex unless you count the mod Sexiles, there is only nudity, and if that's sex to you then, I don't even know what to tell you. Mass Effect and the Witcher has a few sex scenes but they are scripted, only happen a couple times when the devs see fit, and are rated R at best, just showing a nipple here and there. That's hardly a TRUE ADULT game like I'm talking about.

Imagine a survival game where your plane crashes on a deserted island and a small part of the game is repopulating enough humans to build a full community. So you have to have skill check conversations with women to get them to sleep with you, and have children that can grow up to help rebuild your new world.
It would be more of a survival game, tower defense and cave exploration/zombie killing game but there would be that option to spend any amount of time, any time you want, doing what two adults do. Or in this case many adults do. Not a system that happens three times in the game, but whenever you want, or can get it. True Adult Choice. Not guided developer choice.

It's pretty simple really, not sure why you couldn't get your head around the idea.

Your original concept with an rpg containing mature interaction between characters is the games I listed above where you need to make the right choices to get laid. I only mentioned CE because its on the few big games that dosn't shy away from full nudity, gore etc. And what you're descring in the OP as a "adult rpg" has been done a milllion times over you just need to know where to look and many more already being developed by competant people. I do apologise though for calling you a hypocrite, english is not my first language and I misued that word.

I guess I could have been more specific with the "Adult RPG" phrase.

I've never seen any games, in 3D, that look good, play good, and sound good, that feature FULL UNCENSORED sex scenes that can be activated by the user when passing relationship/skill checks.
Conan Exiles, with the Sexiles Mod, is the closest thing to what I'm talking about. But in a single player format only. And not with "mod level animations". Throwing in sex animations for free as a modder is one thing, but having a budget and a team to optimize and deliver true skin shaders, animations, skin deformations etc, that's what I'm looking for.

A triple A game that has ZERO censorship. Even the Witcher 3 was censored. Cleverly, but censored all the same. Just like Bioware games.

Maybe I could be a writer for your story. I am currently working and doing college do it could be a while before I get some story made, but it doesn't seem like anyone else is volunteering. If you do choose me to help, let me know what type of game (as in military, sci-fi, fantasy, alt_history) or anything else. BTW I am also making a medievalish story that does not have sex but it could be used as a base for the story.

Actually was a verdict on this ever reached, did you find any info about the last project from earlier last year or start putting together things for your own?  Because if you decided to try your hand at making such a game, then I smell the dawn of a new random ideas thread, and while the last one was an absolute mess, it was also pretty fun to kick thoughts around with people.
