I already have a few weapon mods but you can never have too many!

I am currently using book of earache and Stalker weapon pack.

I also have the odd gun here and there, but thats about it.

Can anyone suggest some nice weapon packs?

Hmm, a little too modern for my tastes but I do like the SCAR assault rifle in the pack.

I was wondering why are the weapons differentiated between companion and player ones? Are some of them not usable by companions?

I have Classic Fallout Weapons... and I hate how most of them seem to use 9mm rounds. I mean, do I really need almost 10 guns that all use the same ammo type, and most seem have weaker stats than vanilla NV 9mm weapons?

I don't recall that ammo type being so overly used in 1, 2 and Tactics.

Anyway, you could try homemade weapons. It's only four weapons, but I think it's neat.

to be honest most of the good weapons from classic fallout weapons are in project nevada, there is a patch that lets you run both but you end up not being able to run out of ammo at that rate for all the guns and ammo you find

Tactics doesn't count, it's a spinoff.

And yes, 9mm was an uncommon round in FO/FO2.

When it comes to weapons mods the big main problem is that they never deal with the big problem: Vanilla F3 weapons.

They add their own stuff balanced with itself, but nothing is balanced that well due to this fact.

Were it up to me I'd do a bottom up rebalance, and return to using the real Fallout ammo types rather than the fucktarded bethesda changes (IE: electron charge packs go bye bye).

And of course, weapons strength would first be based on the ammo type (for projectile weapons anyway).

Yea I might give Project Nevada a try, but I have so many mods installed right now I am afraid there may be conflicts or compatibility patches I need to install that I know I am going to overlook.

I'm one of those weird people who actually really likes Tactics, doesn't think 3 is all that bad and hates the story with a passion in New Vegas.

But not Brotherhood of Steel for the PS2/Xbox. That was NOT Fallout; it felt like they took a game already nearly completed, changed some models and words and pushed it out the door.

But anyway. Classic Fallout weapons does have some nice things, like the needler pistol, Gauss pistol and, of course, THE VINDICATOR!

Caliber by erache is not exactly a weapon mod, but it makes ammo's and its effects, realistic, make it model, casings, projectiles, you name it.

Of course if you like modern stuff it has a good conjunction with BOE, book of erache, is available on VGU and moddb.

Tactics was also not Fallout, however it was a decent game, considering it was rushed to release by Interplay. The aussies who made it tried, but really lacked an understanding of the setting, which goes to show that if the whole theme of a game is based on a retro style from a particular country, it should be made within that country.

As for POS (AKA BOS) for PS2/Xbox, Fallout 3 was actually canceled for that oddly enough, and it was after POS's release failed (largely due to missing a christmas season release by a few months) that Interplay closed Black Isle.

As for the game itself, I remember that a mix of the trolling done by the FO fanbase, as well as the much larger number of angry console gamers who had bugs with the game, resulted in Interplay closing it's POS forum section, then the entire forum when complaints were posted elsewhere. Of course it was also fun back in the day when we trolled bethesda into a site wide disabling of avatars when they got the FO rights.......

As for FO3 baconminion, EVERYTHING posted in your last paragraph was something that SHOULD have been in Fallout 3, execpt they were either too lazy, incompetent, or just didn't give a fuck about the fans enough to actually do.

Look at the Advanced Power Armor in that screencap you posted, then look at what we got from bethesda.

The MOD looks profesionally done, whereas the bethesda product looks like a really shitty mod from years ago.

Linking to comparison pics of each just so people can laugh at how bad bethesda sucks ass. And as always, if you work for bethesda and this offends you: good.

edit: Also anyone else think that the FO3 enclave power armor, and the FO Tactics power armor, look a tad similar...... almost as if the jokes at bethesda mixed the two up.

Honestly, I STILL like the Enclave power armor from Fallout 3. The power armor in Tactics... not so much; they tried to make it look too "cool". The stuff from 1 and 2 looks kinda goofy and retro, while Fallout 3's take was trying to be somewhat more realistic.

I like both styles, honestly.

As for Tactics, I still love that game AND I consider it a Fallout game. I consider it to be one to the point where, when I was writing my concept for a Fallout MMO, I included the Midwest BoS chapter as a playable faction. I love the fact that intelligent Deathclaws are in it, that you can recruit them, and that both Ghouls and Super Mutants are also playable. I like the fact that I can pile my team into a BoS branded hummer and ride around the wastes, running things over while everybody shoots everything not hitting my bumper.

And finally, for Brotherhood of Steel for the PS2, I honestly never ran across any bugs in that game. Maybe it was an Xbox thing, maybe I got the only good copy of the game, but I never saw any bugs. But the fact that they had instant death pits in something billed as a Fallout game is BULLSHIT.

But then, Bethesda also did that shit in Oblivion for reasons that still confuse me to this day.

Uh dude, goofy and retro is how Fallout is SUPPOSED to look.

That's whole whole point of the retro 50's style that made Fallout what it is.

Of course it's also something that bethesda is hopeless at doing right, as FO3 shows.

And don't get me started on the fucking hairy deathclaws and BOS HMMWV's (which shouldn't exist in Fallout anyway).

For your POS console game, dude it was a low budget spinoff that didn't even maintain it's own open section on the interplay forums due to all the hate and complaints.

As for bethesd and oblivion, well, that's what I've been saying: THEY SUCK.

I think we kinda lost the script here. Weren't we suggesting weapon mods?

Back on topic, if you like obscenely huge yet relatively balanced pistols, check out the DEK (Desert Eagle Kit). Those are some sexy guns.

I finally gave Project Nevada a chance and I love it, omg why didn't I download it earlier!

I already have book of earache.

And as to the Desert Eagle pack, I already have way too many pistols lol
