Invisible posts

Posting in Player Slave Encounters thread i found that if i post something that starts a next page, my post will be invisible(cant switch to a nyw page, it's not displayed), until someone posts something else.

Happened with post #851 and post #871.

I too have had posts disappear on me. Not many and not often but it does happen from time to time.

 

However if the post does suddenly appear then it may have been just a simple cloud fare (cached copy of that web page) vs live server issue and took a bit for it to show up.

Larkotor's post #891 was invisible too.

 

Looks like only those posts that start a new page have issues.

Which again makes me think this is just a cloud fare deal. You are getting a cached copy of that page and it takes a bit before it refreshes depending on site traffic.

 

Annoying it may be but it is far better than posts that never show up at all.

No prob, i can live with this. I just don't think this ever happened before.

 

I see this happenning all over the forums now. I doubt we just haven't noticed this before.

Wouldn't be a cloudflare issue, if it's the first post on a new page, the new page didn't exist before, so cloudflare wouldn't have a cache of it and would just serve up the live server version.

 

I've run a forum recount (which was apparently intense enough to lock up mysql and bring the site down for 5-7 minutes). Let me know if that fixed it or not.

I've ran into this problem in my old own thread as well. I find it only ever happens when the thread reaches near 200 pages. Creating a new thread fixes it.

In PlayerSlaveEncounters it started from page ~90.

 

BTW, i just started a new page there, and i can see my post. So it's at least better now.
