Possible Paladin of Dibella RP Question

I've played Skyrim a fair amount, and on my last playthrough I finally completed the main quest.  But in some ways, I didn't enjoy it much, as I was constantly hopping from quest to quest without slowing down and just enjoying the game.  A number of quests/storylines are set up in a way where if they were real, more and more people would be dying the longer you took to complete them.  And so I had my character behaving from that viewpoint, and hence the quest hopping.

So this playthrough I'm going to take my time and do things which are enjoyable, and do quests when going through them will be fun.  While this will be how I'll play, I'd like to try being a Paladin of Dibella.  I know a fair amount about her lore, beyond obvious thoughts of consensual sex, though there will be plenty of that.  ?  I want my character to savor life and the beauty of Skyrim, with the following rational for taking their time.  If they wear themselves out saving people but proceed to enter combat drained, they're much more likely to be killed, and then they won't be helping anyone else anyways.  So by cherishing themselves, they will best be able to defeat Alduin and others, thereby doing more good in the long run.

And hence my question, would such a viewpoint be acceptable to Dibella?  Would this be the kind of knight she would want and encourage, even though some people could have been saved from death or spared suffering had my character acted sooner?

If the general answer is such a knight would be unacceptable to her, I'll come up with a different roleplay.  If the answer is Dibella would favorably view a paladin of hers with such a mentality, excellent.

Short answer, Yesh.

Dibella, like most of the divines, has an entire militant order of knights dedicated to her and her temples.

The Order of the Lily.

My own lil' breton redhead's a Cleric o' Dibella come to skyrim from the order's chapter houses in Highrock.

Hell, recently I added in Enaisaion's Wintersun beta https://www.patreon.com/posts/wintersun-wip-i-21159763

For even more dedication to her godly thot-ness >:D

You don't need us to be your lore police for whatever you want to do in your game, but since you asked: I think the concept of a paladin of Dibella is a little weird, since she's pretty chill and not into violence.  I think you might find a better fit if you come at it as a knight errant or swashbuckler type that's also a devotee to the goddess.  That way, your character will have reason to stop and enjoy life without feeling obligated to constantly run into battle.

Edit:  And I just got out-lored while I was typing this.  Apparently Dibella has something like paladins after all!

I think it might depend on the definition of Paladin.

The UESP link didn't have a lot of information, but my guess, not having played Daggerfall, is that the Order of the Lily is more of a militant defense than an offense, protection and not missionary.

Are you looking at playing through the main quest again to role play this or more of a character backstory for a wandering adventurer doing the various city and wilderness quests to see the game at a different pace? The "knight errant" path is probably more of what you want but that also depends on how you define "Paladin" in your game. TES isn't really like Forgotten Realms, which is what I most think of for paladins, and without the 9 alignments, the concept of a Lawful Good Paladin doesn't work. The Divines do have Knights and Champions however, so there certainly is that lore canon.

You can really make up whatever you want to play the game however you want to have fun. I made up a whole "Dibella and Julianos got together and made a magic paintbrush so people could perfectly recreate the beauty in their mind's eye with a minor amount of magical skill but it was twisted by both Sanguine and Herma Mora so there are several version in use by many different kinds of people and not all of the pictures are just for beauty" as a reason for putting porn pictures in books in my game.

You can always take inspiration from Minsc and stick the booty of beauty in the faces of evil. Miniature giant space hamster optional.
