Animations not showing in SLAL

I've been trying to get animations working with SLAL for a while, but nothing seems to happen. SLAL itself installs fine and I can access its MCM menu and everything, just that no animations are listed inside it.

The install order in ModOrganizer (the left window) has the order of SexLab, FNIS, Papyrus, JContainer, SLAL, then the animation packs themselves. Their esps are loaded in the same order as well in the right window. I run FNIS and it seems to load the animations, but then when I load SKSE to run the game there's nothing in the SLAL MCM menu. Am I just misunderstanding or missing a step somewhere along the way?

depending on the SLAL Pack it may not have been packed in a MO friendly way, but apart from that i don't know much about mod managers for skyrim.

if the files got installed to the wrong file path or if there is something wrong with JContainer then nothing will show up in SLAL.

Okay, so I guess the problem may have been ModOrganizer? Because I decided to try removing SexLab and JContainers from MO and installing them directly to my Skyrim folder and now the animations are there. Those were the only two I touched, SLAL and the animation packs are still right where they were. Really should have done them one at a time to see which one made the change, but I'm bad at science, so there we go.

It shouldn't. My best guess would be that your SKSE installation might be wrong with MO, i remember this seemed quite tricky to me but i did it only once, years ago. If that's fine, SL, JC, SLAL and packs should be simple installations where pretty much nothing can go wrong. In a few cases i've had it that my CPU was busy otherwise, MO lagged and didn't find an .esp or something, then you need to dis - and reenable it or maybe even reinstall it in MO, but that happened... maybe once in 200 times.

@Pfiffy from my perspective MO isn't supposed to fix any problem by default, but it saves a lot of time if i want to fix things i fucked up. Since i fuck up things often, it's totally worth the time MO needs to learn how to use it. ;) If you do your things properly from the beginning, i agree it's rather not worth it, at least less.
