Darkening Demise Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 I made a overhaul mod for her and she still has her default look plus the dark face bug. I tried deleting her facegen but and exporting it but that did nothing. I even tried moving the character assets folders out like the makeup so there was no red forehead. I made overhauls for other female NPCs but she and Arcadia are the only ones messed up. One has her own esp while the other is apart of a bundle esp where it alters many females all of which work except Arcadia. What do I do to fix this?
RW311 Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 NPC data is being overwritten by another mod. In game find npc with grey face, open console click on npc you will see in lower right corner last base change, this esp must be the one that last made changes to the head information from which the facegen was created. Sometimes you can fix it with load order, but if this is not an option then make a patch so the changes you made are combined with any required changes from the other mod/s.

As RW311 said earlier, several mods that alter properties of NPCs (e.g., face) will cause conflicts. It's also worth noting that changing NPCs during the game will also cause conflicts. The conflict is then between data in savegame vs. Mod. To solve this (at least temporarily), open the console and click on the NPC. If you see the NPC-ID Enter: resurrect To check if there is a conflict between savegame and mod (or Mod vs. Mod) Start Skyrim and in the main menu open the console and enter: coc qasmoke. In the test cell you can enter in the console enter: player.placeatme xxxxxxxx 1 xxxxxxxx = ID of the NPc If the NPC looks okay, then there is a conflict with savegame vs. mod. If s is not okay, then conflict mod vs. mod - or tthe mod is "bad"
Darkening Demise Posted October 27, 2018 Author Posted October 27, 2018 Thanks for the help figured it out, some nexus mod was altering select NPCs for a 'interaction mod' that expands their characters.
