Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Is it possible to add some type of hotkeyed emotion system, where you pick (thru hotkeys prehaps) how your PC reacts to NPCs, thus getting unique reactions of a fitting nature ? Also, this could be further added with a lovers module allowing flirting, etc, and of course date rape . But yeah, it'd give characther animations a lot more purpose if it's used for more than posing.
Ark of Truth Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 That would take forever to code. I doubt it is going to get done. To be honest your most likely better of building it yourself as hardly any new ones get built. Also this should be in Oblivion adult mods as it is a request not a mod resource of any kind.
gerra6 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 your most likely better of building it yourself as hardly any new ones get built. And that right there is the core of modding. Is it possible to add some type of hotkeyed emotion system' date=' where you pick (thru hotkeys prehaps) how your PC reacts to NPCs, thus getting unique reactions of a fitting nature ?[/quote'] If you have an idea for a new mod, the first step is figuring out a way to make it happen. If I am reading you correctly, what you are talking about sounds like a mod that integrates a large number of (hopefully compatible) pose mods, categorizes different animations into different emotional (or other) states, and then selects them based some sort of criteria that is partially user set and partially dependent on some external events (quest, conversation, disposition, etc). It sounds doable, but pretty damn complicated. So I'll just say this. Whenever possible start small and build from there.
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted November 3, 2012 Author Posted November 3, 2012 this should be in Oblivion adult mods as it is a request not a mod resource of any kind. No, it shouldnt. It's not for any specefic game. I had an idea I knew was WAY beyond my ability, so I decided to toss it to modders. I take it you're the mod who also moved random threads (inluding one about the weather) into the politics section ?

Read this, Post 3. http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=9732 What the mods do with posts and threads is up to them personally I think that entire politics section should be deleted.
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted November 3, 2012 Author Posted November 3, 2012 personally I think that entire should be deleted. Um, as the first poster you CAN delete your user guide.........
Ark of Truth Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 personally I think that entire should be deleted. Um' date=' as the first poster you CAN delete your user guide......... [/quote'] Nope users deleting they own threads is now disabled has been for over 2 months, it has to go through the admin or mods now. You didn't read what I put. I said the entire politics section should be deleted.
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted November 3, 2012 Author Posted November 3, 2012 I actually agree with you about it, not only because of the random threads being added to it (IE: one about a blizzard 19 years ago) but because what we need is a a board for sensitive topics (IE: those that'll lead to arguing) with rules specefically set up to force folks to be semi cordial if they're gona use it.

EDIT: As to the OP, it reads as if you're asking if it's possible to have some sort of a random pose generator at the hit of a hotkey. It might be doable, but creating or getting permission for the facial and body anims, sorting them, and then getting them to play, and play nice together, according to any given situation, sounds like a helluva lot of work. It's unlikely anybody will volunteer.

Symon Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 As facial expressions for Oblivion (and IIRC, FO3 and FO:NV) are embedded in the animation keyframe, this would be a mammoth task, just for Oblivion. As so few people bother to embed facial expressions into poses and animations anyway.....

[/quote'] Throwing an idea out there that a) involves an enormous amount of work, and you don't have any intention of contributing to yourself because it's "way beyond my ability" is not particularly useful. Saying people are bitching and moaning when they try to give you an idea just how much you're really asking for is not particularly useful either. Or well-behaved.
Symon Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Kashiwaba, the reason it's a huge task is that if you decide an animation requires 5 emotions, you now need five copies of that animation. So instead of one animation, you need five and need to control five. If you then decide that males need three addition male only expressions that's another three? Understand a little now?
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted November 5, 2012 Author Posted November 5, 2012 Oh I always understood Symon, just that those two really like to post in threads even if they have nothing to contribute.
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted November 6, 2012 Author Posted November 6, 2012 Ohhh, is it just adjusting the NPC, or is that the player ? Intersting.
Poontank Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Oh, it's just an NPC emotional reaction/facial expression system, sorry. It can also change NPC idle poses ("lovely gestures", KAWAII!) and give you and NPCs blushed cheeks. The modder behind it is especially famous for tentacles... But wait! There was a thread a long time ago where a few people posted, some in the know (and I don't exactly mean myself but Grim and Symon). Nothing good might have come out of it but the challenge still stands to tweak the faces a bit. 'EDialog' could help in this endeavor! So when will we get it? Probably never .
Symon Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 As I said in that post, embedding a single expression in a single keyframe is simple (if requiring experimentation). What the post suggests goes beyond that, requiring numerous additional keyframes. (e.g. walkforwardwithgrin.kf, walkforwardwithsmile.kf, walkforwardwithshout.kf, etc ad infinitum.) Then you need to adjust the animation chains so the new ones are used and selected when appropriate. (and we all know how brittle that chain is). As I said, a massive job. The theory is easy. Implementation, I think not.
Emily Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 The groovatron on f3 allows player to alter facial looks and expression. Hardly a system. Oblivion already have vanilla expression system by default. Your PC expression towards diffrent NPC and faction are vary. Just get close to their interaction range but don't activate them. In skyrim and fallout this feature was removed and switched to verbals.
