Thoughts on Conan Exiles?

I saw that Conan Exiles has nudity built in-game, and the graphics look nice, so I was thinking about potentially buying it. What are people's opinions of this game? I'm undecided as to whether or not I want to buy it. A lot of people talk about the multiplayer or pvp aspect of it, but I'm not really interested in playing with other people online, so that stuff doesn't matter to me too much. 

 

Is there a way to play it by myself with npcs? Do people on here like the gameplay and combat? Are people able to mod the game's meshes and textures? Although the game has a nude body built-in, I was thinking about trying to modify it myself into a more pleasing shape. 

 

I guess what I'm looking for is a nice fantasy game with nudity. I'm not too concerned with actual sexual animations/content, and I've played Skyrim so many times I'm interested in trying out a new game. I've never played any mmo's before, and I don't care too much about pvp oriented stuff since I'd rather just play by myself. Can anyone here who has played this game give me some thoughts on its quality? Thanks!

First off all Sorry for my english but I hope you could understand.

 

I played 2-3 hours...And I get bored unfortunately. Played DayZ,WarZ,Rust,7daystodie and kind of stuffs as a similar concept I mean ''survive''. You know those games are boring without friend to play with. Even If you have friends, you dont play much maybe one week if you are lucky. I played lot of game but skyrim , mount & blade and dota 2 are few games that can hold me for a long time. 

 

I think dota 2 is good if you are looking for competitive game. But I dont want you to play it because it does make you angry..

 

When it comes to mount&blade there was a lot of people are playing together and doing Role-Play for siege castles hold them and even do some alliances against strong enemies. It was really good role-play and there was so much fun.

 

I forgot about San Andreas(gta) there was a mod called sa-mp that makes game online. Modders had created world for role-play. You were playing with real players as a real person in game. Its to hard to explain but you can check it.(I dont know its still alive or dead but I palyed 2-3 years)

 

Skyrim..Yeah I think its my favorite game I never stopped to playing..Thanks to modders they are amazing people. I dont know why exacly I talked about my gaming history but maybe it can help you so let me suggest you some games that I played and like.

 

Those games are might be fantasy but Im not sure about nudity because its not common think you know..

 

Monster Hunter World , Witcher 3 , Witcher 2, Mass Effect 2-3, Black Desert(Its amazing MMO with amazing graphics and details but you have to play whole day and give your all time to get somewhere thats why I quit) Pff I realy dont remember anything about my gaming history even if I am that 'nudity' tag making things harder..But when I remember I'll edit my post.

Technically yes.

There are some Npcs but most of em are hostile and those that are not haven't had a lot to them the last time i played the game.

Also, there is no actual Story or Quests, its pretty much : "hey you're in this world now, do something".

Since its UnrealEngine 4, you can mod pretty much everything in the game.

I've played it as an off-line single-player game since February of 2017.  If you like wandering a world gathering materials and then building things with it you might like it.  I think it works best if you think of Conan Exiles as a software toy rather than a game.  NPC's primarily exist as something that will attack you, or something you knock out, drag back to your base and turn into a thrall, who will mainly stand around doing nothing.  Don't expect interactions with NPC's like Skyrim where you can chat, get quests or wear an amulet of Mara and have them marry you.  Out in the world creatures and NPC's kind of just exist until you get close enough and then everything attacks the player (except antelope who just wander by predators and player unless you actually injure them).  On occasion you will see animals fight each other like a tiger attacking a rhino or cobras fighting giant scorpions but it appears to be a scripted interaction it isn't a basic part of the creature AI.

 

You can mod it when the devkit is updated, but it tends to break mods everytime a new version comes out, kind of like Fallout 4 and Skyrim SE break script extender mods.

 

Combat is kind of iffy, some people like it, I find it bearable but it depends too much on chained attacks which lock you into an animation which must complete before you can do anything else. 

 

I like the game, if you are like me you'll probably enjoy it too - but at the same time it is kind of dissappointing because it isn't done yet and it could have been so much more.  Don't regret the 30 dollars I spent on early access for it.

I thought there would at least be a main campaign or quests, but based on the things people have said here and elsewhere it sounds like this game is kind of empty. Too bad.

have you played Arc Survival?  same thing, with a few map changes, a few beast changes, and npcs added.  otherwise, the crafting mechanics are the same, the quest lines so far seem focused on the harvest-and-build grind, and unless you're on a multiplayer setting (I'm not), it'll be hard to "get into" and "stay into".  I'm doing the single pve for the sake of learning the game, and intending to find a pve server I can use mods on.  

That's the other detail that has me a bit bummed... BattleEye, which keeps us from using cheat mods on official servers... gotta find unofficial servers, or stick with solo environs.

 

you're the one with MXR youtube channels, right?  I follow that show, it's amusing, entertaining, and I've found a few things there that appealed to me.

 

*Edit - if I remember rightly, one of my friends said she found a server that does Gorean roleplay, and this is of some appeal to some of us, myself included.  That's why I wanted to get to know the mechanics of the game before I got into MMO... if you're not familiar with that, please look up "John Norman Gor" on google.

I used to played in ERP private server, and I would says it great by 'lore' and 'people' lot of lore in Conan can lead to tons of possibility to roleplay, my 900+ hrs in it can summarize as below

Combat : quite alright it have mix feeling of darksoul and monster hunter (craft weapon, arrow, cold climate, hot climate, breakable armor and weapon, big monster, unique drop), I'm not play PVP so I dont know about that but as I heard it fun.

 

Build : if you have high imagination level it will be really fun but bug is quite annoyed  (server with offline laid or decay turn on is such a pain), if you're lucky enough to join server with people that have great skill or not a jerk who destroy people's house for fun, you can easily found resort, brothel, bathhouse, castle, village, slave den, arena etc. (all will be miss if you not play in RP server), I used to own brothel and high priest of Derketo(search about her you will not disappointed) in ERP peaceful server and it quite fun

 

Balance : Ruined after north region release everyone run around with that black shiny armor because it is the best (some server make lore for people who wear it can be attack on sight to nerf it 'lore : those who wore it will consume by it madness',

 

Gathering : Survivor? huh! just sake of RP (ask for food,water exchange for... you know sexiles mod) best material can be access if you run fast enough and know where to hide, food? you can eat everything even insect on the ground and make you survive and in higher level there are beehive that can generate food, water? don't be stupid to build on hill unless you unlocked 'well' (quite high level) but everyone love bathhouse aren't we? so most player will build on water base.

 

Thrall system : really unique and I love it, you must hit npc until they become unconscious and drag them home to the wheel to break them.

Fighter/Archer : attack everyone on sight (I hate them)

Armor smith/weapon smith : can craft unique item which better then normal and also fashion up to npc race

Dancer : use for buff + regenerate and best for decoration

 

I stop play this game because map is too large, really hard to find someone and people love to have there own house/concept, I must play alone a lot lately so no fun at all.

 

Summary : it is OK game only with RP server if you into it, if play in official or normal server it trash. I stop play this game for months maybe something might change.

Summary: CE is like a hot girl with an IQ of 80 who grew up in California.  Nice to look at, but so boring and unstable that it's just not worth your time.

I play on a roleplay server with sex mods and so on. It's honestly a ton of fun, if you can look past some of the mechanical issues, and focus instead on the roleplay aspects in multiplayer. The server I play on regularly gets 50-60 people online concurrently.

It´s a Game more for people interested in RP right now.
The Game has a huge potential for modding tho, there are a lots of nice mods already and a lot more to come.

I´d say you could wait if the CreationKit (fullrelease?) and then buy the game. 

 

Given what we have right now Sex with NPC´s and Players works. Given what we got just a few days ago, Sex with animals will be a thing too i´d say. So good news for everyone that is into that. Of course there are chicks with D´s and a few other fetishes are covered too. Not to mention that the "Survival" is not bad and the building is nice too. Both can be greatly enhanced with mods.

The game is not intended to be played in Singleplayer (my opinion) So you should take a look at some of the ERP-servers that give you what you "need".
Personally, i think that Conan gives you a great deal of freedome and is very fun too, tho it´s more a game for people that want to play with other players together.

I'm buying it tonight from Steam at 50% of the full price. I've been waiting for this game in promo a long time so having it available is really good news even if i wished in a 70% Off deal like happened for other titles but hey, I'm ok with it if I get just the vanilla edition since the barbarian Edition looks like a package for Conan's fans with comic-books, tshirt and stuff like that.

What I read even here tells me the game is worth those 19,99€, everything I want is there in the game. Won't be like Severance Blade Of Darkness but if I compared BoD, Skyrim and For Honor, all games I did and I do play {I would add also Assassin's Creed series in the mix} for the same reason, BoD remains the best ever and I'm speaking of combat system: weapons richness and coolness, memorable combos growing with the character's level, impressive difficulty including some bosses like I've never seen in any other game... I've been looking for a game like that for ages and i really wish there was a sequel with the technology of today, even if some stuff there was amazing like the lightning effects and the physics, which made Severance Blade of Darkness a clamed game and a cult for old gamers like me {45 here}!

 

A side-note on Severance: Blade of Darkness... BoD was my 1st ever PC videogame and the first game, I believe, with a a very active and passionate modding community at that time {early 2000s} that survived the game slow death for years making new maps for years later, without any support at all... making mods at that time was a real challenge even if I guess youngest players would laugh or feel pity for the old decade{nt} gamers like me.

I wish some people even here on LL would make some mods for that game even if it's an almost 20 years old title. I recently found the way to play it on Windows 10 with my HP OMEN 17 and... damn... I didn't remember how hard it was even in Easy mode, I was impressed once again, shocked I would say.

I still look at it with nostalgia and with a dream... a version with new meshes... to enjoy my first nude mod ever agaion in all its glory: the Amazon character of Zoe {we had four, Tukaram, the serious barbarian; Naglfar, the tough dwarf; Sargon, the noble old knight; and Zoe, the Amazon who was vocal like the most vocal of the tennis female players!} and her bare ass climbing the rocks and ladders: spectacular vintage!

 

If anybody hears me on that please let me know.

 

 

Closed the side-note... I'll go for Conan Exile mostly for 3 basic reasons:

 

•  the freedom of action {storylines get boring, I don't play Skyrim and fallout for the quests anymore

 

• the building features {I found out workshops are the best feature of Fallout 4 and Skyrim was a "uhm.... umph" kinda satisfaction so I have high expectations with CE}

 

• the combat system {I don't like laughable ones like in Skyrim or overcomplicate like For Honor, even if I do play them and I like them a lot}

 

 

Besides I loved the videos and, above all, the screenshots I've seen so far {I enjoy taking them, I use mods mostly for that purpose} and if the modding community starts growing and decent DLC start coming sooner or later then this is definitely gonna be awesome.

At the end of the day {or I'd say "at the end of today" by now, since is almost one hour from midnight} as a prime time fan of Schwarzy's Conan movies I cannot refrain from buying it just right now!

I ended up getting it for 50% off last night as well. I've been having fun wandering around exploring the world so far. I have no expectations that I'll play the game as much as I did Skyrim, which is the gold standard of sexy fantasy games, but this one has been enjoyable so far. 

 

I'm going to download the Unreal Editor and change the bodymesh to something more aesthetically pleasing since my character is mostly running around with no pants on, but yikes that program is 176gb. Gonna have to delete a bunch of stuff and free up space.
