How's the modding community doing these days?

Hey guys,

It will be almost a year since I've touched Fallout 4 (last played on 3rd of December 2017). That time a few mods came out but nothing really exciting to enhance the game experience. Reminds me I haven't been on these forums since ages too !

Since I saw the Fallout 4 : Miami trailer (never thought this project would go this far), I'm gathering some info about good mods that came out since I left (mainly those that aren't necessarily visible in the "mods of the month" on the Nexus.

I saw a few good outfits and weapons, and other kinky mods. Are there any DLC-sized mods that were released since 2018 ? I know FO4: New Vegas and Cascadia are 2 big projects in the works too but I didn't see anything else meanwhile.

What are your thoughts on the current state of the modding community ?

In my opinion; it's doing good, though there are no exceptionally interesting mods releases in these couple of weeks. The mod updates are great such as Super Mutant Redux v.23.

But Bethesda keeps updating the game version every time CC has something new to sell, It's rather difficult for Modders and Players to keep mods compatible with new versions of F4SE.

Well in the past year, there have been several massive waves in mod development and innovation.

Of course you can't reinvent the wheel every week, but the great mods still keep coming. Workshop Plus and Workshop Framework for example just got published (anyone who spent more than 5 hours with settlements will love these).

Some things related to LoversLab modding still have not been figured out, like a decent High Heel system or perfectly seamless bodies without bad AO- or normal map artifacts. So let's say there is still lots of room for improvement, unlike Skyrim which seems entirely dead on the innovation front for a long time already.

That sounds frankly fascinating. It seems Fallout 4 modding is alive & well.

I've also just come back to FO4 since a hiatus dating from 2016. I think back then Fore-Play was still being hammered out but now I've over the last week built up a large modded game with lots of new possibilities in store. I have a nice new character based off of Kusanagi from GITS (original I know) with the Ares CBBE android skin, and some synth eyes. The sex mods are coming along nicely. RSE is a great new sex mod with plenty of kinky options. There is even a Devious Devices though I haven't checked that out yet. Oh and I find the positioning of the actors during sex much better than in SexLab, although it cannot be adjusted unless I'm missing something.
