heroscomeback Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with the 3rd person camera. Please check out the video if you can (it's not even a minute long) and if you know a fix to this bug, let me know! It's game breaking for me as I primarily play the game in 3rd person. Thank you!
VonHelton Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Wow.......That's different. Got any HUD mods installed? ?
Dallas-Arbiter Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 I've seen something like that before, it happened to me a few times, because I was using a pose, and 1, I didn't turn off TFC before exiting the pose, and 2, I made my character jump to get out of the pose instead of exiting the pose through the mod's own menu. Have you tried loading an earlier save to see if it's still happening?
D_ManXX2 Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 that is not a glitch do you have mod installed like in game camera third person camera https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18246 or state base automatic camera switching installed ?? https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18000 what you see is the vanity is moving the third person behind the character.

It's different for sure as I can't find a fix for it anywhere and no one else seems to have encountered the issue. 8 hours ago, Dallas-Arbiter said: I've seen something like that before, it happened to me a few times, because I was using a pose, and 1, I didn't turn off TFC before exiting the pose, and 2, I made my character jump to get out of the pose instead of exiting the pose through the mod's own menu. I do use pose mods to take screenshots but I always check to make sure both 3rd and 1st person cameras are functioning properly after I'm done messing with TFC. When this bug appeared, I wasn't using any mods at all. I simply exited Parsons Asylum after finishing the Cabot House quest and that's it. I'm in Sanctuary because someone mentioned that using a workbench should fix the issue and maybe fast traveling as well. Neither suggestion fixed the bug. 3 hours ago, D_ManXX2 said: that is not a glitch do you have mod installed like in game camera third person camera https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18246 or state base automatic camera switching installed ?? https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18000 what you see is the vanity is moving the third person behind the character. I don't have either of those mods installed. Though what you mentioned does intrigue me as you said "vanity". I do use showlooksmenu to edit my character or companions often enough but like I said above, I always check to make sure there are no camera issues after using console commands. This bug popped up during normal gameplay, so that's why I'm really confused and annoyed by it lol
Tefnacht Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Looks to me like your player character somehow got stuck in the wrong animation archetype. Use the console command: player.caa animarchetypeplayer That should move the camera back into the usual “over the shoulder” view.

I was ready to just completely give up but this fixed it. You're a life-er, game saver! Thanks so much!

Albeit, mind you, now im experiencing a different issue where the camera mis-aligns to my gun, so the gun could be pointing off to the side while the camera, crosshair and any bullets fired end up in the middle of the screen regardless of where the gun is pointing.

It's what I do to fix the camera when coming out of looksmenu, so I figured I'd throw it out there. If deleting the Camera block from the ini file doesn't fix the issue, and you had a camera mod installed but removed it (I'm just going by the previous posts, so if your situation is different please post more info), something could have gotten baked into the save. Have you tried backing up your save files, and create a new character to see if the behavior persists?
