Howdy All!

As many of you have seen by now, I have quite a few retex and other misc. mods posted here on LL.   Drawing and coloring is fun for me.  :)   In a round-about way, I asked this question before, but wanted to ask again...     ...never hurts to ask.

Background: ON    Before 3DMax, it was called 3D Studio (It was DOS-based then and cost 10K! ). Being an old guy, back in '95, I taught myself how to use 3D Studio. That's because 3D was brand new for personal computers and basically no one on the planet knew how to use the program, so I had nowhere to go if I had questions. Believe me, that was rather brutal at times. I had to read a stack of manuals that were literally a foot high and after about 6 months of trail and error, I got pretty good with it. I was contracted to do modeling and animations by several large game companys, (yeah, yeah big deal) but over time, things changed (3DS migrated to 3DMax), I changed, etc., etc. and my 3D went by the wayside as I got into web design / graphics.   OK, background: OFF

Several things one could do with 3DS was, 1) Break up merged meshes back into individual elements and 2) copy the original texture mapping on those elements (UV mapping now?) that could be saved as a file to be reused.

So my question is:   Some of the older armors, etc. are kinda crappy and / or merged into a single stupid blob.  I'd like to know if anyone would be willing to take the time on occasion to break up an armor / clothes for me into individual parts or "assemblies", along with reapplying any texture mapping that had been originally applied back onto those parts.  IDK, but would assume those things can still be done in Max or Blender. To be honest, I really don't have the time or more importantly, the inclination to learn a 3D program again to do it myself.  Been there, done that. I just don't wanna...

Naturally any person that could assist me would be credited as such on any future mod projects. Not much in the way of compensation, I know, but mods are free and I'm poor - living in a one room shack next to the train tracks, down by the river.     OK, maybe that last part was a stretch and a little hyperbolic...

Any foolish takers want to help me out from time-to-time?  If so, please PM me.

Thank you for your consideration, Kev.  :)

Generally and without PM ;)

I would always use Blender instead of 3Ds for modeling, UV mapping, Sculpting and texturing.

3Ds is only "better" because the NifScripts are better and faster (for Import/Export of nifs) or in terms of Havok (3ds 2012).

And Blender is for free!

And for skin is Outfit Studio also okay - sadly without animation, but better than nothing.
