Smutty Dragon Mod

Title WIP, although I've grown attached to it at this point...

V0.9 Beta

Contents

Dragons! Interact with dragons, be a dragon. Dozens of events and chains to deal with your tyrannical draconic overlord, or attempt to satisfy your insatiable needs as a mythical, immortal (but not invincible) being.

This mod is (currently) completely standalone and, other than providing adult dragon content, seeks to not break vanilla CK2 balance too much. A dragon's immortality comes with a price: Find ways to satisfy your needs or descend into feral madness.

Slight word of warning that the general tone of the mod is quite gritty. Dragons are beasts, consequences are realistic(-ish).

Features

The mod currently features 35 unique events, 5 "special" event chains and a unique system "satisfaction" system for dragons that forces them to find a balance between sentience and their feral nature as well as debauchery and general opinion. Find things that appease your inner beast, or enjoy acting and being seen like the feral beast you become otherwise.

Ascend from human to dragonhood by impressing a dragon and become his/her mate for life!

Unique perspectives for every gender (and species)* although some scenes are still TODO.

AI responses according to their character traits. Dragon characters with traits such as Lustful, Greedy etc will have a harder time staying content.

Uses very recent (2.8+) modding techniques that make shenanigans like custom cultures to replace portraits unnecessary. You can be a norse, pagan viking dragon and enjoy all of it.

IMPORTANT: Beta Contents

This beta release is mostly feature-complete. I'm mostly releasing it early because I like attention hearing what other people think.

Consequences for dragons becoming completely feral are still missing.

Dragons currently DO NOT naturally spawn. Use one (or more) of the provided debug options to spawn them. I'd suggest spawning an opposite-sex courtier, or turning an opposite-sex liege into a dragon, or both. For a quicker experience of the bulk of the mod, turn yourself into a dragon as well, but the search for ascension can make for an interesting puzzle.

There are likely bugs and things I overlooked! If you click an option that feels like it should give some sort of feedback, but doesn't, do make sure to tell me.

Planned Features

More optional events for dragons to increase satisfaction through violence or debauchery

Reproduction and events between mates

Settings to reduce (or increase) frequency and intensity of risks or injury and death

Compatibility mod with Dark World: Reborn to make use of its many features

Installation

1. Install Smutty Dragon Mod

sdm_v0.9.zip

Unzip the contents into your Crusader Kings II/mod folder

2. Install Bigger Events

Bigger Events

Last but not least

The mod uses some identical art assets as Zia's Dark World: Serpent Expansion. I have Zia's permission.

If you enjoy what I'm doing and want early access to future releases (after V1.0! That'll come asap either way), or want to simply support the mod or even want to just buy me a beer, consider paying my patreon a visit: www.patreon.com/Sheep234

If you enjoy the ART which I absolutely do not own or take credit for, consider throwing your money at the artists instead. I will provide a list of credits with the release of V1.0, as well as links to their patreons.

Link worked fine for me, may be on your end or just a server hiccup for you.

Edit: Now having tried it as human female, both liege and courtier as male dragons, I'm getting random crashes.  I'd guess I don't have one of the DLC that you do that the mod uses, but I'm not sure.  Though I didn't have the most recent bigger events mod, so that might be it.  I'll end up checking later.

Link seems fine on my end as well, not sure what's wrong there.

The crashes are almost definitely caused by not having Bigger Events enabled. For V1.0, I will likely integrate Bigger Events into the mod itself (as suggested by the mod author) to avoid issues like that. No DLCs are needed

One of the things that sticks out to me is that when offering your dragon courtier sex to appease him/her, the random courtier you can offer can be a child. Like... 1 or 2 years old. I also suspect that you can still offer up your character even if he/she is a child. I strongly recommend you set it to check for marriageable age.

I also felt like the event was firing too often. I had my dragon courier demanding stuff from me every 6 or so months, which seemed excessive.

So grips out of the way here are a few suggestions: Randomize the results of your choices a bit. For instance what if you offer to pay off your dragon courtier and he instead decides to rape your character or one of your other courtiers instead? Perhaps have a few alternative sex scenes that can occur based off of pure random chance and/or your the traits of those involved in the scene?

While working on my own mod I've come across some images that you might be interested in. If you'd like I could post some links for you.

The demand event fires more often if the dragon is agitated (i.e. has the feral or agitated dragon modifiers).

It will also fire extremely often if the dragon does not have a title. I think it's not made clear enough that an unlanded dragon will cause a lot of trouble, just firing the event more often causes confusion. I think I will change the text of the demand event if the dragon is unlanded to make it more clear.

I.. sort of forgot about an age limit, so that's a good catch.

I would rather not have too much unexpected randomness. One complaint I have about a lot of mods is that things just.. sort of happen without opportunity for agency. I've spent a lot of effort making sure every event option shows percentages of what can occur. In the case of the demands, perhaps something random could potentially happen if you refuse the dragon (which will already cause a big opinion penalty, and since dragons are very, very likely to be landed, that's already an issue for a ruler. Ideally, anyways).

If you have images that could fit, please do feel free to send them to me!

Finally a mod that answers the age-old question: "But what about dragons?"

Like if you get the reference.

Indeed my friend, indeed.

It's a pretty good start, I like where this is going. I can certainly appreciate a mod that does one specific thing, as long as it's done well.

Unfortunately, there isn't much to this mod at the moment. I wouldn't call it a beta or even an alpha - more of a proof of concept. The only path that kinda works is human-on-dragon, every other path is either straight up missing, or cuts off unexpectedly. Definitely needs more work.

Sadly not compatible with Dark World, at least with the custom portraits of Dark World, with Smutty Dragon enabled, the Dark World Characters have no custom portraits, as soon as the Dragons are disabled, the Dark World portraits work fine.

Both mods use interface\portraits\static_portraits.gfx while other mods have something like <modname>_static_portrait.gfx as filenames,

which make the more likely to be compatible in this regard.

Holy Fury has been a.. surprise, to say the least. I haven't yet figured out if it's a boon or a problem, or entirely irrelevant. I wanted to limit dragons to a few dozens in the world at a time at most since if you have too many, they stop being special.

Thanks for the report about compatibility problems!

Installed the mod, however, there are no events other than "Dragon's demand" ever triggering, regardless of whether dragon is landed or has +100 opinion. Is this mod version specific?
