When SL animation begins, actors start, stop, then immediately stand up: SOLVED

As above... when starting any sort of SL controlled animation, the actors will almost always start the animation then stop and immediately stand up. Sometimes this affects just one actor or the other, but usually both. I hit the reset animation key over and over, sometimes just spamming away at it, and eventually the animation will proceed as expected. I've tried counting the number of resets I have to make before it works properly, but it seems to be random. This only happens during the initial transition from the current non-SL game pose to the 1st stage of the SL animation. After that the animation transitions from one stage to the next as expected.

Although I've searched extensively and found nothing, I'm kind of hoping this is common and that's it's already been resolved. If so a pointer to the solution would be appreciated. If not, I'll take a stab at generating the log files as noted in the troubleshooting guide.

Thanks.

A bit more clear???   What is "non-SL game pose", maybe you talk about OSA/OSEX or is a pose maker for take screenshots... because if you reffer to the normal game that is not "non-SL", is the normal game.

Normally, animation problems like, slow strip, animation not start, actor not move, actor overlaped and similar are cause by problems with the skeleton.

RE-Install XPMSE and let it overwrite all.

XPMSE must overwrite all and none mod can overwrite XPMSE

If you have MO put it the last in the mod order for give it maximun priority.

Thanks for the reply.

By "non-SL game pose" I mean a normal in game pose, such as an idle pose. It's whatever pose the PC may be in while just standing there waiting for the SL "activities" to be initiated.

The problem occurs during the transition from that "normal game idle" pose to the stage 1 pose of the SL animation. The PC and participating NPCs all switch to the stage 1 SL animation, but then immediately pop back up to the  "normal game idle" pose. The SL audio carries on as if the animation was running properly, but it's not. Spamming the left bracket key (I have that mapped in SL to the reset animation function) will eventually correct the problem, usually after half a dozen to a dozen tries, after which everything works fine.

I don;t think it's a strip issue because this problems happen after both the strip event and the initial alignment process (ie, where all the participating characters are standing "inside" one another, occupying and overlapping each other in the same space).

Hopefully that clarifies a bit. I'll try reinstalling XPMSE and rerunning FNIS for good measure to see if that has any effect.

PS, my understanding is that BeastHDT and Joy of Perspective 1st person skeleton is supposed to overwrite the XMPSE files. Is this not so?

Thanks

Not exactly...

If you have NMM, you must UN-INSTALL the mod's and INSTALL IT from zero for show AGAIN the Installation menu that come with some mod's like XPMSE.

If you have NMM, you MUST install the mod's in the CORRECT ORDER and manually make the correct replaces because is the ONLY way for replace the correct files with NMM.

With MO, you must put the mod's in the CORRECT ORDER in the mod list (LEFT ZONE) and i presume, because i not use MO, if you click with rigth mouse button over a mod and select Reinstall mod you get the Installation Menu of the mod.

All of this explanation is because you MUST install that mod's in THIS ORDER:

1 - The Joy of Perspective: Let it overwrite all

2 - XPMSE: UN-INSTALL AND INSTALL IT again for open the installation menu.

3 - Beast HDT: Let it overwrite all

Why?   Easy...

The Joy of Perspective must be first because is the most old and XPMSE have enabled compatibility with it, as say the nexus web page, but you MUST ACTIVATE the compatibility option in the Installation Menu of XPMSE.

Spoiler

Mods compatible:
Aesthetic Bolt Quiver
- CITRUS
Deadly Mutilation
Dual Sheath Redux
Enderal
Flimsy Ragdolls (included in XPMSE)
- HDT Dragon Tails
HDT Equipment (Well Fitted option only)
- Nipple Magic (included style option and animations recommended)
Realistic Ragdolls & Force (included in XPMSE)
- SAM - Shape Atlas for Men
- SOS - Schlongs of Skyrim
The Joy of Perspective
UN7B
- True Spear Combat - Weapons and Animations

In last must install Beast HDT and let overwrite all because some beast skeleton has been modified as said in the web page:

Spoiler

A couple of (not so) short instructions:
- Please make sure that my mod overwrites everything else. That's especially true for XPMSE which you usually should load last. I edited a few skeletons from that mod and if you let XPMSE overwrite my altered skeletons then the corresponding creature animations won't work as intended. But it's also true for other mods like All in one UUNP, MNC or Realistic Ragdoll and also generally anything that overwrites my xmls.

Make the correct installation process and run FNIS for Users. Test in game and look if all work.

If not work make a test in a NEW GAME. Maybe you have trash in the savegame.

If the problem persist in a NEW GAME, we need a papyrus login.

Open Skyrim.ini and activate the login options in the Papyrus section:

[Papyrus]
bEnableLogging=1
bEnableProfiling=1
bEnableTrace=1
bLoadDebugInformation=1

Start game, load your savegame and go to the last page of the MCM of SexLab for activate debug/login option in the upper/rigth zone.

Make some test, close the game and compress the papyrus0.log with zip or any other tool because can be some megas.

That's got it!

Just to summarize in case anyone else has the same problem:

1. Installed the latest XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended (v4.51) with the Joy of Perspective option enabled.

2. Placed XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended near the bottom of MO's left pane.

3. Verified that XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended was placed below Joy of Perspective in MO's left pane.

4. Placed BeastHDT below XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended in MO's left pane.

5. Verified that the only thing overwriting XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended in MO's left pane is BeastHDT.

6. Placed XPMSE.esp at the very bottom of the load order in MO's right pane.

7. Ran FNIS.

Problem solved. Everything is working flawlessly now.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Just to save you maybe a little effort in future: the load order shouldn't matter, in fact you even might disable the .esp entirely if you just want sexy bones, you need that only if you use the weapon changes from XPMSE (maybe other stuff too, but definitly not sex). XPMSE functions from the .esp produce some script stress, not too much but with a lot of scipt mods and/or  a weak CPU you'll want to reduce that as far as possible.
