SKSE64 2.0.8, Skyrim Special Edition 1.5.50, multiple plugin errors

In this case the jcontainer.dll was the wrong version

After many attempts to fix, downloaded the game from scratch and started adding mods to test.

 

Manually verified scripts and plugin files and .ini files are copied over.

 

Showracemenu works, SkyUi works FNIS Stuff works

 

JContainers, SOS, SexlabUtil all fail.

 

Kinda hoping someone can see something obvious I am missing.

All DLL mods needs to be updated to work with the new SKSE, there really is no work-around except reverting the update and wait until all are updated. There have been links posted on how to do it.

Caught me off guard as I haven't had to update Jcontainers, SOS or the SexlabUtil for the past few game updates, thought those were safe.

 

Will roll back the game files.

I've discovered something odd about SOS when it loaded. I found some files in my Overwrite folder in MO2 in an SKSE folder, not SKSE64 folder. I'm wondering if the problem is that, for what ever reason, Skyrim SE, or SOS is looking for files in the wrong folder. Or, maybe it's even SKSE itself. All I know, is that seemed kind of odd. I'm going to try creating each and maybe copy all SKSE plugins and scripts to 'both' files just in case. I'll try to get back with my results. That is, unless I have to start all over, then it might be awhile.

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but is it normal that the game CTDs when I launch it with (partially) updated 1.5.50 files? It runs without SKSE, as it did with the previous SKSE version. I expected functions not to work with the update, but a CTD? Why is that?

Ive the same issue.

Game is updated to 1.5.50,skse ist 2.0.8 and all Mods (sos,fuz,sse engine fixes,Race menu Sexlab) are updated.

Disable SKSE plugins until the game starts and you'll find the culprit.

That I have to do "trial and error" to find the problematic mod is clear to me.

My point was more: why does it CTD, instead of simply stop working? How can a SKSE mod conflict cause a CTD? I know missing masters and machine-related crashes, but from SKSE? How can that even be?

 

If that problem can not be solved by some mod update, I'd have to look for something else. So, before I start to downgrade SKSE-related mods, I wonder if the problem is solved by some update yet to come. Of course, your list in the other topic seems pretty green right now.

It depends on the mod. Could be something was written in a way that it wouldn't be disabled in a new version of SKSE, even if it wasn't compatible. Could be one of the updated plugins is buggy.

 

Don't downgrade anything yet, Identify where the problem is first, then you look for answers and a solution.

These have been the CTD culprit for me of recent:

• Always install the XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended skeleton last and keep as the last to load in mod load order.
• Never trust a ported mod from Skyrim to Skyrim Special Edition, check the .NIF files with SSE NIF Optimizer. (#2 cause of my crashes)
• Wait for the Skinned Mesh Physics (SMP) version - Don't trust anything that has holdover HDT physics within Special Edition. (#1 cause of my crashes)

With this last update of game files to 1.5.50 there were changes that impacted other mods I wouldn't typically have thought about like JContainers or Papyrus Util.

Figured it out by trial & error: Beeing Female is the culprit, causes CTD. Once deleted, everything runs smoothly on 1.5.50.

Don't thank me - thank the people that pointed me in the direction. I didn't even realize a outdated dll-file could cause a CTD.

Make sure you got the SKSE 2.0.8 version of SOS. If so, try this.
