steve0216 Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 I just download a mod called dread prison. But after I installed and followed the load order on this website: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54535/ , I can't enter the game at all. But when I uninstall the mods, I found I can play the game again. So can anyone help me solve this problem ? I really want to play this mod.
MadMansGun Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 that sounds like a missing master file or wrong load order.
dharvinia Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 some mods overwrite certain files when they are loaded. These files have other mods that are dependent on them. when you uninstall the mod, you could/may have taken out a file upon which the game depends. Having said that, as mentioned above, load order can be the culprit as well.
Psalam Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Which begs the question, did you run LOOT? If you don't know what it is Google it (Load Order Optimisation Tool), download it and run it. It will tell you if you are missing masters and help get your load order in some sort of ... well ... order. See what that does for you. Edit: If you used the instructions on the description page of that mod and aren't familiar with manually installing mods I expect that you are suffering from TMI. If you use a mod manager download this file in the same manner that you would normally with the mod manager. I still recommend that you get LOOT and use it. However, the author is specific about the load order of his files so, after you run LOOT, make any manual changes that are needed to meet his specifications. Good luck!
