CTD after Loading Screen

Thought I would be competent enough by now to fix this myself but here I am...

 

The game doesnt crash on new saves, but it does so after I try to load them and new game also has a certain chance of crashing after the loading screen.

 

Weird enough, the game did work fine a couple of days ago, but since then I uninstalled some mods (already checked if another mod was now missing a master) and got a few new ones (also disabled them again to check if they were faulty)

 

Other things I have tried to fix this problem: verified game integrity, launching through steam, creating a bashed patch, ran through loot, ran FNIS, ran Bodyslide and tested it a few times with tes5edit.

 

There are some other possible reasons like lack of vram and overload of animations which I tested to not be the case. (16 gigs of available vram (tested with vramsizetool) and reduced animation count (but should not be the case bc crash fixes didnt prompt out the error)

 

I´m at the end of my wits and desperately need your help.

I should have noted that I already use that, sadly didnt help though.

 

It seems I have stabilized the game for now, mainly by changing DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB in skse.ini to 1280 and disabling UseOSAllocators in Crash fixes.

Mod dependencies are not just esm (or esp with masterfile header).
Often it's just scripts that check for other moads (esm, esp) and then use script resources from those other mods.

These types of dependencies are not checked by Loot, MO, and so on.

Your Papyrus.log is full of "missing file" messages. This indicates the above-mentioned mod dependency.

Which mods query this script do you see the loading number.

These are hexadecimal - convert the first two numbers to decimal.

 

Example:

[09/01/2018 - 04:02:02PM] ERROR: Unable to bind script srav_QF__030E3372 to sravPostSexConvos (3C0E3372)

 

3C = 60

That could be the mod Skyrim Romance Animated.esp. (Skyrim.esm and Uptdate.esm are not counted)

You do not have to use Load Game CTD Fix. It only simulates the proven coc qasmooke method. However, not only when loading the save, but at every cell change of interior / exterior.

Instead coc qasmoke you only need if it is necessary and the loss of time is only once about 5-8 seconds.

I checked every mod for a possible missing dependency and reinstalled some with integrated patches. Also checked the identifiable missing files without results.

Also I dont really mind the extra second loading screen bc it really helps a lot and skyrim is on my ssd so I dont even notice it.

 

I should also clarify that the main problem (what the title says) is gone. Cant however confirm that it stays that way because i couldnt test over a longer period.

Hi, I have a potentially stupid solution I found when faced with a similar problem.

 

I often found that after progressing for a few hours in the game, I couldn't load my save directly from the main menu... as for you, it would crash right after the loading screen.

 

Here is how I "fixed it" (I honestly hesitate to use the word "fixed") :

 

- I started a fresh new game using alternate start mod to be in the small empty cell (and not have to bother with the intro)

- After waiting for the MCM to register everything, I saved immediatly and always kept that save

- from the main menu I load that untouched save

- from that save I load my real save, the one I am actually playing through with my character

- and voilà, no more CTDs after the load screen. Lately I don't even bother trying to load my real save from the main menu and always go for the "detour" to the safe... erm... save

 

I really hope it works for you
